That first photo makes me think: just because it was issued doesn't make it not stupid.

The only thing I never liked were the ARMS scope mounts.  But the rifle is sexy.

I believe it was thoroughly vetted through Crane. It must have worked, if they thought it was GTG.

It was and I had it on mine and it was shit. No matter how I tried to adjust it, the crap still moved. Called ARMS about it, was told by a lady that it's ok if it moved alittle. Fuck that.

Dumped the mounts for a Larue....actually Larue traded me my ARMS stuff for the Larue.

I will say that the SWAN sleeve is ok, but the scope rings IMO is crap. Their throw levers are junk...

Not knocking the Mk. 12, but if I had to make a choice, I'd take
a 607 over a 12 any day.

MK12 Mod 0 is best looking rifle bar none. Probably not best performance or lightest option but who cares.
Next is MK18 Mod 1 followed by Mod 0

Yeah. You might be right, but Paul Howe called his weapon a "CAR-15". They were procured outside of military testing, IIRC.

So they didn't have a military designation....?

I'm glad you know that's pronounced MARK. I get irritated when I played games with a mk designated gun. And people on the headphones were saying "M Kay 14" or whatever. It got under my skin. lol

They were never officially adopted AFAIK. "Plausible deniability"? I'm sure some snake eater will be along to tell us.

Pretty much. They got let behind through by everyone else that came into the game.

That's basically the medieval period of the black rifle.

You can build a gun every bit as accurate for like half the weight these days.

The statement was "coolest AR15 variant". There is no "use" qualifier in that statement. I stand by my choice.

Indeed, but it won't have an iota of the panache and badassery of the Mk 12.
