I have both the G19 and G26 and used to carry both daily. Back then, I thought of the 26 as the perfect BUG as it took the same magazines as the 19. During my last move I lost my ankle holster for the G26, so it rarely gets carried. Going further, I can't remember which brand of ankle holster I had, but I really liked it. It was a custom ankle holster given to me by a former police officer friend of mine. I also asked him and he couldn't remember the maker as it was given to him by another officer. The only thing we agree on is that it was the best ankle holster that we have ever used, lol.

These days, I have a G43 and I find it easier to carry than the 26.

Anyone know what company's chop the grips on clocks that are knowen?

Have 3 G19's, 2 of which I would like to get the grips cut to G26 size...possibly my g17 grip cut to g19 size

I chopped my 17.

By far my most used pistol. BY FAR.

And I have a G43 and G19.

Also put a GFA on it. Feels MUCH better, at least if you have large hands with long fingers. Also seems to help keep the muzzle down, but that could just be my impressions.

That's a pretty good deal, buy because Glock and 9mm and all that.

But IMHO, the G26's role is really for someone who carries 2 pistols.....and wants the mags for their primary to fit their secondary.

If all you want is concealment, the 43 is superior. But in general, IMHO, more barrel mo better. More velocity, less recoil, longer sight radius.

It's easy if you have the following items and are even remotely handy.

1. Dremel (variable speed) with cut off wheels and sanding drums/plastic shaper heads

2. Punch

3. Masking tape

4. Some sort of scribe.....like a sharp ice pick or exacto knife.

5. Sand paper.

Make gun safe, remove barrel. Stuff paper towel down in mag well of G17.

Use the punch to push the pin out on the G19, and then to push the G17's out 1/2 way, and then into the open slot on the G19. Line the frames up perfectly.

Use the masking tape to delineate where the G19's grip ends on the G17. Leave a little extra on the 17 so that you can shape it after you cut.

Use the exacto knife to make any custom cut lines you want (mine has my G19 mags recessed so that the rear of the grip extends to the bottom of the base plate).

On slow speed, use cut off wheel to remove the material.

Then on slow speed, use the shaping wheel or sanding drum to get the shape just right.

Use sand paper to make the cuts and edges smooth. Test fit magazine. Do any final touches.

Bam, G19L.

Shooting a g27 is how people came up with snappy to describe a 40.
Nothing about shooting that with full power ammo was enjoyable. A g26 was fine.

My 26 is my backup to my 19, depending on what I’m wearing and where I’m going it can be my primary as well. That’s said all my 19’s and one 17 are RTF Gen 3’s, I just wished I could get a 26 RTF. I have about 20, G19 mags, and over a 100 G17 mags, so I’m set for mag interchangeability, some 17 mags have mag grip covers for the 19, and some for the 26. This has allowed me a number of different ways to carry addional mags and not being stuck with the 26’s 10 rounders, but not giving up concealabilty either. I wished they’d just do a RTF26.

This. I prefer finger rest mag extensions on my G19 so I can get a full grip, the G26 may be OK as a backup gun, but I wouldn't want it as a primary.

NO.

The G19 is a very good handgun for size and capacity. I've owned a number of them in various generations and currently have two Gen4s. It is no longer my favorite 15-round 9mm polymer striker, but I cannot imagine being without one, or two.

The G26 on the other hand feels like a little brick. Apologies to the brick.

Really, it's just personal preference for myself and anyone choosing a handgun for their own use. Buy what you like regardless of the opinion of others.

Actually tried this (using a 23 slide). I’m glad I did bc, now I’m not a fan of the concept. The balance just feels off and weird in the hand.

I started packing the 30S. With the factory 10rds you get a great grip. Nivethin slide, bullnose is cumfy. Great firearm.

Yes. I run a Gen4 26 with extended baseplates as my EDC in appendix galco holster. G19 is good if you want one gun to do it all (CCW and Duty Pistol) but I prefer specialty platforms. G26 for CCW and G21 for Tactical/Duty/Bump in the night.

I like my 26 more than my 19, or my new 43 to for that matter. But I think it boils down to having spent more training time on the 26. All my courses have been with the 26 because it's what I carry. And I have a .22 kit that used to use a lot.

That Polymer80 G26 looks pretty cool! Thanks.

I have both and the rail on the 19 kind of makes the difference for me.

I had a TLR6 for my G26 and it was shit imo.

But.i shoot the 26 better so it's weird.

At the end of the day it's 19>26 for me.

I concur, marksmanship was equal for me as well. The 26 is much easier to conceal. I like the mag extension as well.

Could you get a polymer 80 or lonewolf and cut it down without riking you factory grip?
