They need to get rid of the spring race in Texas and add one of the old tracks like Rockingham or North Wilkesboro.

Boys, it was damn cold there this morning. Very little wind and was actually nice when the sun did peak out.
Attendance: bigger crowd than it looked on TV and way bigger than last year. I bought my ticket on Black Friday on a half price deal. It was almost sold out according to Ticketmaster's site showing available seats. All those seats TM showed sold in November were empty today. Makes you wonder. Chad and Jimmie fight like a couple that's been married 60 years on the radio. They do a pit stop and JJ brings it back in for a vibration. About a lap later he asks Chad if there was anything he needed to know. Chad says not really, you aren't going to catch the 4 anyway.  Chad lets out a big MF'er when the 42 smacks the wall and they fall three laps down. Before the restart, JJ ask "what's the plan?" Chad says "ride around for 30 laps and wait for the stage to end." Radio silence. On the restart, before his wreck, he tells him, drive fast, turn left.
BTW: the replays did not do justice to JJ's hit on the tire barrier. That was a hard, hard lick. Bowyer had a bug up his butt with Chase. He said, "if he brake checks me again I'm gonna punch him in the mouth." He also gets upset with slower cars who won't give him "room." Rodney and Harvick were talking during the red flag about the air guns. He said Suarez crew had one yesterday that ran 1350RPM and they one they brought them ran 930RPM. They brought them a second gun that leaked worse than the first one and the third one was acceptable. Rodney said the TV people wanted to talk to him on air about the impact guns and he told them "I'm tired of biting my lip, I better not." |

This will make some of you happy. That inner wall is some type of foam and a tire wall with concrete behind it. It was a hard hit with a big compression of the tires.

The gf and I are heading to GA but are spending a day or 3 in Charlotte. We got in yesterday and today visited SHR and JGR's shops and Hendricks' "campus", as they call it, which it really is. SHR and JGR have buildings...JGR has their own road into their campus and their own radio station (I think that's what surprised me the most).
Then took a tour of CMS. Gonna hit the HOF tomorrow. |
