Mad Max, Mad Max 2, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome! Mad Max Fury Road, not so much. Discuss.

The first one is excellent, so is the second one, the third movie is trash compared to the first two, and the fourth is ok.

Fury Road was the best of them all and one of the top ten action movies ever made.

Mad Max was interesting for its day. Road Warrior was flat out awesome, burnt out the VHS tape of that back in the day. Thunderdome I found mildly annoying. Fury Road was again interesting, and I enjoyed the fact that the guy who played the Toecutter in Mad Max was brought back to play Immortam Joe in Fury Road. There is supposedly another Mad Max movie in the works.

I don't think so Tim!
I spent the evening watching "Full Metal Jacket" "Apocalypse Now" and "The Deer Hunter" Much better than anything they put out in the Mad Max series. |

I tend to think Mad Max and Mad Max 2 were great (especially 2) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome not so much.
I thought Beyond Thunderdome turned to shit because Hollywood was involved, but they were only involved with distribution (Warner Bros.), not the creative side. So, if Beyond Thunderdome was bad it's because the Aussies made it bad. This last one has some nice effects, but it's nothing we haven't seen before. |

Loved the trilogy and Fury Road is also a work of art. They are all great in thier own way. Lookign forward to more.

Quoted: Fury road was a fun movie and way better than the Original movie. Only parts of the original that were great were the chase scenes and Toe Cutter. View Quote I suppose you don't need a sense of humor with a pretty face. The only trouble is though, Missy, if you should... lose the face. |

The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel. It'd take you ten minutes to hack through it with this. Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes. Go.

Max 1 would be an odd cult film if there had not been more films in the franchise. 2 and 4 are great films, 3 was somewhat a victim of being a big budget 80s movie

I like the third one... I like them all... they're all a bit different. https://i.imgur.com/YjqissZ.jpg View Quote Bubba Zanetti: What do you think happened? Kid: Looks like it's been chewed up and spat out. Bubba Zanetti: Perhaps it was a result of anxiety. |

You need the first to know who Max was, and the second to show who Max became.
The third was pure commercial crap. Tina Turner? Lost children? Really? |

That was, like, 5 movies OP. Last I read, a trilogy, like SWs, was 3. Series, perhaps, but not trilogy.
