Now I suppose the question is should I do a clean classic type job

Or a thuggish ruggish build

Nice! I am so in on this one. A FA SD is what got me hooked on them; probably the most fun gun I've ever shot.

Go classic! The thug version would be front heavy AF.

You need to start with the clean classic build, and it needs to earn the thuggish ruggish build!

Isn't your other MP5 Thuggish-ruggish? Maybe have a clean -SD with red dot and hang accoutrements of the other gun.

At the end of the day it's yours to do whatever you want. Thuggish-ruggish isn't the typical look for the average SD so it'd look cool decked out.

You had me until you said "thuggish ruggish"...

Ill keep that in mind next go around

I got a LSC from RTG

I still have some parts to order. But I now have the heart of the system to set the bolt gap

RTG was pretty slow on getting it out, supposedly will be here next Wednesday. From there Im going to send it out to get all the HK markings.

Trying to decide on a railed handguard or nah.

It would be kinda cool to go do night stuff, but I also have a MP5 with a Knights rail already

Buy the port cleaning brush. It screws into your can's threads so that you can use the can as leverage.

Seriously, that tool is a must.

Please post pics of this build. TPM makes an excellent suppressor. Actually, two for MP5SDs.

Edit: I use my dummy can from Title II arms as the port brush extension. RTG Parts sells a realistic looking dummy can, btw.

Be prepared to completely strip down the can and your host for cleaning. As you have heard before, the SDs get filthy after use.

If you aren't familiar with HK trigger packs, you will be soon enough.

Buy a chamber brush while you are at it.

Semi is good to go, as well. The SDs with modern cans are cool.

Edit: Host, Can, Sear.  Three stamper.  $$$.

I might be the odd man out, but I dont think semi is that bad. I mean the thing will go boom, or Im sorry, pew every time you pull the trigger.

Ive shot a bunch of autos, but for the money, pull triggers fast aint that bad

Oh, yes, Chase, yes.

Build the classic configuration, for sure, and add a Franklin Armory binary trigger. I absolutely love mine.
Link Posted: 11/9/2018 11:42:23 AM EDT
[#50]
If only there was a binary trigger for the HK94 semi auto firearms.  Obviously a true MP5 with the select fire option wouldn't need a binary trigger..a semi auto clone of a MP5 might though.
