Far-right activist Laura Loomer was permanently banned from Twitter on Wednesday for violating the company's hateful conduct policy in a tweet aimed at a newly elected Democrat politician.

Loomer, 25, who describes herself as 'an investigative journalist', had her account shut down after she posted an Islamophobic tweet attacking the Minnesota Rep.-elect Ilhan Omar and her religion.

She previously had around 260,000 followers on the social-media platform, which says on its website that it strives for 'a safe place for free expression' and prohibits 'abusive behavior.'

'My haters are celebrating today, and they are saying this is the end of my career, but I want everyone to know I'm just getting started.

'Everyone who knows me knows I don't back down.'

The former editor of the far-right news platform Breitbart Milo Yiannopoulos, who was himself banned from Twitter two years ago, said Loomer's removal from the website was 'political warfare.'

'She was banned for criticizing an elected politician,' he said on Facebook.

She was elected during this month's midterms in which Democrats took back control of the House of Representatives.

Omar is also the first ever Somalian-American legislator to be elected. She and her family were forced to emigrate during the Somalian civil war in the 1990s.

Though critical of some of the Israeli government's actions, she has previously said that the 'anti-Jewish' accusations levelled at her, like the one made by Loomer, 'are rooted in bigotry toward a belief about what Muslims are stereotyped to believe.'

She opposes a boycott of Israel and supports a two-state solution, saying 'it is going to be important for us to recognize Israel's place in the Middle East and the Jewish people's rightful place within that region.'

Loomer's account had been previously suspended by Twitter for the duration of the midterm elections earlier this month, which she called 'election meddling', but was reinstated after six days.

I think Laura Loomer has some kind of mental illness.  Not from this incident where she clearly did nothing wrong, but things she's done in the past, like claiming her tires that were deflated from wear were slashed, and having a weird obsession with Alt Right types romantically despite being Jewish.
