It's "Chik-Fil-A" now, right?
Can't remember - even though I ate lunch there today. ETA: Yeah you're right, it's "Chick." I don't know why the hell I thought this. Weird. Kinda like "Mandela Effect" shit going on. I swear I thought it was "Chik." |

As much as I like the food, I find Chick-Fil-A Sauce hitting my taste buds is what gives me that rush similar to when you've been craving a beer and get that first sip on your tongue.

Same at our local mall before they closed and built a stand-alone store.

BTW - Your pics are from right after Desert Storm OP. ("Welcome home troops" banner).

Go go Hate Chicken!
The food court at the mall north of here has asian, chicken, pizza, BBQ, burgers, etc. Lots of choices, but guess which counter is the only one with a line, every day? |

Damn that old dude's got a cigarette. Jealous. View Quote A few beers a day too, if Doc approved it. Back before big, private rooms, another patient was admitted to to my room. Dinner was pretty good and I told him I was calling the nurse for a beer, he just laughed. Look on his face was priceless as she delivered me a bottle of PBR! |

I'm 37 years old but I remember my mom taking me to the mall as a kid to see the Chick-fil-a she worked at in the late 70s.
I ended up working for the same man when I turned 14 at a double drive thru. Great organization and Mr. Shaw treated his employees like family. RIP Mr. Shaw |

Called it Chick a fill growing up and the only place you could get it was in Metrocenter mall in PHX.

There's on on 85 North outside Atlanta where you can sit down and a waitress brings you a menu and then takes your order. I can't remember which exit it is at... off to Google.
The one at Pleasant Hill Road with the "Dwarf House" - can't make this shit up lol https://www.cfarestaurant.com/pleasanthilldwarfhouse/home |

Northridge was the nearest mall during my childhood. I loved going there in its heyday. Didn’t take long for “community planners” to diversify the neighborhood with section 8 housing. They turned that area into a Detroit ghost town in a few decades. Very sad.

I think the first time I ever had Chick-fil-A was in a mall food court.
2007-2008 IIRC. |

I saw those yesterday at the urinal sentinel online. I miss the big stainless waterfall statue. That will always be my memory of Northridge.

Thats about how the one in Signal Hill Mall looked in the mid 90s if I remember right.

I can barely remember those days. Might have eaten there once or twice when it was in the local mall. Don't recall when they closed that and moved a few miles to a stand-alone. In a lot of ways, that closure started the end of that particular mall. It is still open, but nothing but a shell of it's former glory.
Those were the days. Hit the mall after work, dinner at Garfield's or Piccadilly. Desert from Auntie Ann's. |

I worked at a mall Chick-fil-A from 92 to 96. We didn't have any neon lights or anything like that. We did have 8 registers. Back then, when you ran the register, you called back for waffle fries and special sandwiches like Chicken-Que, extra pickle, chicken with cheese, etc. Otherwise, you got the sandwich or nuggets out of the warming drawer, got the fries, then got the drinks, and took the money. It seems much more efficient now that the person running the cash register doesn't do it all. Man, Christmas time was awful. We'd have all 8 registers going and have a line at each one going out the door. Pepole would be practically sliding under the gate as we were lowering it at closing time.

Still mall food today. It’s okay food, but I’d never pay my own money for it.
Work gives us a $100 gift card every year and that’s all I use there. |

Couple of my buddies are flag waving gays and they can't resist hate chicken lol.

In my high school years (late 80’s), we would travel yearly to Fayetteville AR with FFA for State Judging competition. It was basically a requirement that we go to the mall and eat at CFA and also get an Orange Julius. We had neither at our hometown.
|
|
Yep, we had one in our mall... Has since moved to a stand alone building.
Only time I ever go to the mall is to eat the beef teriyaki at the Japanese place. It’s tasty, cheap, and interesting to people watch. |
