I never even knew wearing certain NB shoes was what old white men wear.

If it's true,I guess I can say I never paid any attention to what shoes old white men wear.

Seems like some here are all about foot fashion, being part of the "in crowd", Indonesian child labor, and love of Kapernick.  It has never been one of my desires to emulate high school girl fashionistas.

I wear them because they're comfortable and have a high arch.  Like any other casual shoe, the lining and support breaks down after 6-9 months and it's time for replacements.  I'm old enough and have lived with plantar fasciitis enough to not give two shits about some punk thinks about my choice of shoes.   There's a guy at work that is all about his Nike collection.  I think it's rather stupid but he is also a huge couch supporter of Kapernick and his causes and everything Democrat Party.

At some point after my early 20's brand became so much less important than value.  Once some minimum quality and aesthetic is met, I don't give a shit about the logo.  I don't have gout, extra wide feet, need special arch support, stand for hours a day or walk miles per week.  I'm currently wearing Asics gel shoes, because when the Puma shoes (one time deal for $19 at Costco) I was wearing before that needed replaced Asics were the best deal I could find (2 pair delivered for $56).  I think it was Sketchers before the Pumas.  I was wearing $150 Nikes in high school 25 years ago, and can't imagine spending that on a pair of sneakers today.

I recently learned that Mike Tyson wears the classic New Balance dad shoes.  He swears by them and says they are super comfortable, nothing else like them.

I gotta say, I'm New Balance curious. I'm not going to wear them though and look like that. Is there anything else out there that feels good for a whole day but doesn't look like that?

I like a clean plain pair of white sneakers. It feels like summer here already in California. I wore my white Air Force 1s this weekend, both days, and my feet are hurting and I'm thinking about looking for alternatives.

Ummm...

Have you thought this through? You have goals related to what the man does, and you ask us why you should care what the man does?

Shouldn’t you want to make sure you wear the “opposite” shoes he does? Wouldn't that necessitate knowing what shoes he wears?

What is the opposite of a type of shoe, anyway? Do you just go barefoot?

I like a pair of white shoes, these are simple and clean, don't look cheap and don't scream anything ridiculous. A young lady at AutoZone complimented me on them today.

I’m 45 and have never nor will ever even try on a pair. I wear Vans (first pair I was 10) Under Armour, and Nike for casual. Business casual, I have 8 pairs of Clarks, I wear Reef flip flops around town, and Keen Sandals when summer hiking.

New Balance shoes are embarrassing so are white calf tube socks....

New Balance and Asics are what I wear most. Not really into the white ones, though. I like the colorful "athletic hiker" models.

Of course, I still keep a pair of Classic Jordans in the closet, for the THOTs.

I run 2500 miles a year. I only run in NB. Are they cheaper? My Zante’s are, but my Bacon’s were $130. Don’t know what you consider “cheap”, but $130 is expensive in my opinion.

My only complaint is the rollmark.  If it weren’t for that big “N” that completely f’s the styling, I’d be a fan

Take any pair of their shoes and picture it without the “N” — it looks way better

Not true. I wear a wide and wear Asics. Not sure if they are considered any cooler then NB's but I think they look better and are about as comfortable as any other "sneaker" I've ever had.

Icky poo!  I wouldn't be caught dead in new balance shoes, even though they come in many sizes and are comfortable. People might think I'm a middle class dad that mows his own grass.
