Anyone ever had a tool chest delivered from HF? I want one of the U.S. General 72” boxes. They are over 500lbs and was thinking about what a pain it would be to pick it up.

Then I checked the website and they’ll deliver it to me for $95. I’ll pay that any day. But would they just drop it at the end of my 300’ gravel driveway or would they drop it in my garage for me? I can get it moved either way but trying to figure out what their delivery entails.

I went to the store and got my 44" top and bottom.  My dad and I took it out of my truck bed by ourselves, wasn't that hard.

It will be up to the carrier. Probably will go freight.

I'd call hf and ask what carrier they use, and then ask that carrier if they offer that.

It's usually up to the driver. But in my experience, if you can be there when they deliver, $50 bucks will go a long way to having it delivered right where you want it.

It'll arrive LTL freight on a truck with a lift gate.  They will set it on the ground behind the truck, and should be willing to back their truck up to your garage, assuming a large truck can get to your garage.

Just a warning.  I picked up mine in person and had to open 3 sets before I found one with no dents, and all functional drawers.

If you get it delivered, I would open it up before the driver leaves.

If you have a local store, go pick one up and inspect before you load it.  My last HF order had to be returned to the store because it was a POS. FWIW it was the newest floor jack.
Sometimes you have to pay more for a lift gate.  So your shipping quote may be off.

Does harbor freight use multiple skus for the same item?

I just bought a 44” bottom cabinet. The sku I was rung up for is 64133 but on the box it’s 64281. Doesn’t say series 2 on the box but it does say 22” deep which is what the series 2 is. So, did I get the series 2 44” ?

Yes they use multiple skus for the same item. Kinda irritating.

I have no experience with the larger chests, but I had no luck with having one of the tool carts delivered.  Both the original one shipped and its replacement were damaged badly by UPS.

64133 is the sku for the red. Says so on the receipt and on my coupon I used. There’s no mention of 64281 on the website or coupon or anything yet that’s what’s on my box for the red one.

I bought the 72" box a few months ago. I have a trailer with flip down ramp.
They loaded it with the forklift, and I strapped it down.

Biggest pain in the ass, getting it off the pallet it ships on...

The wheels ar off the ground, it sits on wood blocks under its frame.

On e off pallet, rolled it right down ramp and into garage.

My experience w/ LTL was that liftgate was an extra option you have to pay for.   Typically they delivered in a truck w/o it and it was your responsibility to have the equipment or manpower to get it off.

If you don't have a truck to use then $95 is worth.

When I bought mine it was loaded into my truck bed off the harbor freight dock.  It was very easy for the wife and I lower it out of the truck bed.   Now that I know how easy it unloaded I would do it again by myself if i had do, though gravity would have more say in the process.

The tool chests are on sale. The 72” is $200 off. 999 instead of 1200.

But I don’t have a trailer right now so I got the 44” and put it in my bed. The 44” I bought was 60 or 70 off. They have a good deal on the 30” roller carts as well.

With the 44 I can add stuff to it to end up like this.

I have been trying to buy 2 of the 44" bottoms and 2 side cabinets for months now.
They especially do not have any in stock when they are on sale. Not just not in stock because they sold them all, they get like 1-2 a week (HF manager told me as much) and typically don't get any in on shipments right before they are going on sale.
None of the other local stores ever seem to have them either and NFW am I paying almost $400 to have the whole pile shipped.

They ship direct from China by slow boat. The one and only time I tried that bullshit I canceled the order after 3 weeks.

At first the manager told me they didn’t have any 44” in stock. I was ordering one that would show up July 4th when one of the guys found one in the back so I got lucky.

That's a great deal on a good box, they don't mark them down often. My reply to the other poster was just that the 20% coupons always have exclusions to what they can be used on. You got the 20 off without the 20 off coupon.

Comes assembled. Only thing you have to do is put the handles on.

I almost picked up that 30” cart too. Glad I didn’t if assembly is annoying. Think I need to get the 44” top and side locker first.
