Many years ago, a site sponsor here that shall remain nameless shipped a case of 7.62x39 to my office address instead of home because they had that on file from a previous order.  Got me some stink-eye from my hormonal bitch Karen boss, but fortunately nothing else came of it.

A couple years ago around Christmas time a local church had "there's a miracle in your mouth" on their sign. I never got a picture though.

Ok, for the first time in several pages, I actually did laugh out loud. I did not see that coming, and neither did Slim.

My first night in Finland on business and my Finnish boss takes me to a Mexican restaurant... it was exactly as good as you would expect.

I was in northwest China on a business trip and our hosts fed us at our working lunches. Each day was a different cuisine - local barbecue, hot pot, local traditional.

One day they did American style Chinese food - I remember chop suey and "sweet and sour pork." I had the latter, but because it was a largely Muslim area, no pork was available, so I think it was either yak or the local mountain sheep. Nor was it sour - the red sauce was sweet, and tasted vaguely like cherries. It was all quite tasty - but they certainly did not "nail it."

It's a Boomer thing. I have 8 brothers and sisters and this was us every other week. We had been in the emergency room so many times that they knew us all and my mom got handed the stitch removal kit as we left so we didn't have to come back. This was before child protective services got their nose under the tent or my parents would still be in jail.

I went to England on company business, and my English co-workers asked me where I wanted to go to eat after work. I said I wanted a good British meal and was told the Indian restaurant nearby would be too crowded to get in.
So we went to a pizza restaurant where my co-workers ordered an imported beer, Budweiser.
I could have had that meal anywhere in the US. For lunch, we went to a pub which served hamburgers with decent beer.

I did have a really nice carvery/pub next to my hotel. That was at least somewhat non-American experience food.

Apparently England has really great food, in almost all nationalities - except English.

Exception being a full English Breakfast, though I can do without the black pudding.

I was a bit surprised at how universal cuisine has become. The two restaurants nearest my hotel were the carvery, and a McDonalds. While there, I ate Japanese, Chinese, burgers and fries. About the only "British cuisine" I had was at the carvery and a fish/chips place. I was in a NW suburb of London and wasn't able to do any tourist exploration.
