I've seen Def Leppard many times. Great show. Great songs.
I saw Motley Crue in 1997 or so. Pretty good, but Vince Neil can't sing. And there's no reason to think that this has improved. With no Mick Mars, I'd either take a pass on it, or just go to the Def Leppard half of the show. |

Going to Pantera in aug,
Never was much of a crue or leppard fan, have fun. For 90’s nostalgia’s sake saw, Sepultura, Kreator, and Death Angel about a month ago. Pit was pretty rough for being full of 50 year old dudes. |

they are playing at TU outside.
the Boomers in their cottages around TU will be pissed... I'm going for Def Leppard. |

Prepare to be disappointed. Vince Neil is long, long past his prime.
Can't speak about Def Leppard, but I can't imagine Joe Elliot is doing any better. Have fun, I guess. |

Def Lepard
Joe Elliots voice has been blown out for years. He tries. The band is detuning their instruments so he can half ass stay in pitch while singing the songs. Its makes the music sound weird/off. The rest of the band is good to go. Motley Crue Vince Neil always gets out of breath and sings every 3rd word. Hes forever been out of shape and their music is high energy. Its been tough for him maintain that energy level through out the show. The rest of the band is solid. I think John 5 is the guitarist now. The most exciting thing about them will be Tommy Lee if he does a drum solo. Ymmv |

Saw the big 5 band tour they did.
Def Leppard was "meh". (I only like them up until High and Dry anyway.) Motley Crue was terrible. Just embarrassing, really. Joan Jett doing "Crimson and Clover" was the high point of the show, |

It’s gonna suck.
I think motley is going to break the record for number of “final” tours. Probably currently held by kiss. I’ve seen them more times than I can recall. The last good show Vince did was the Dr Feelgood tour 35 years ago. These are my 2 favorite bands of the 80s. But I’d rather stay home and drink a few beers and listen to the albums than to see this show live. |

Joe has actually been getting some vocal coaching and it has done wonders for his voice. He is better now than he was 10 years ago, but still a far cry from 25-40 years ago. They always put on a good show. I prefer old school before they went pop. I have seen them a few times over the last 4 decades. I saw them once with Phil and Vivian on guitars and it just made me want a time machine to see Steve and Pete.

When I was 13, I saw Def Leppard at the Capital Center in Landover Md. in 1989. They played in the round.
I don’t want that memory ruined, so I doubt I’ll ever see them again. I love the band though. |

It’s not fair that the Def Leppard drummer only has one arm, and the Motley Crue drummer has three.

Haven't people heard these old played-out songs enough?
you couldn't pay me to sit through that |

Ill be there as well! yea i hope the show goes late and pisses the university off.

2 of my favorite bands of the 80s… but Nince Veal’s voice is shot.

Both bands were good in their day, but that day has passed. Eddie Trunk nailed it about Vince and David Lee Roth, both are great frontmen but they suck live.

Loved Crue back in the day, but they should be ashamed for charging money for the bullshit they do on stage now and pretend it's music.

Def Leppard is one of the few bands that I will shut off the radio / stream when they come on.
The only reason why I watched them / listened to them was to pick up on chicks at the bars/clubs in my younger days. I went to see Def Leppard a couple of times back in the day for the same reason. "Chick Music" I saw Motley Crue on the Sunset Strip a few times, then I saw them at the US Festival in 1983. They rocked! These days? Mötley Crüe - Girls Girls Girls Misheard Lyrics |

Mick Mars basically said in an interview that he thinks Def Leppard being so much better musicians than the guys in Motley Crue was the reason that Motley Crue were using the tracks instead of actually playing live.

This one's better than the burls burls burls one...

I saw def leppard 5 years ago and they were good. Better than I was expecting actually. Open air concert and the sound was still good.
Based on EVERYTHING I've seen regarding motley crue now I think I'd pass on that. |
|
John 5 is the only person on that stage that would be worth seeing.
I was "shocked", I guess, when he decided to tour with Crue. Didn't think a genius like him would stoop to their level. |

Yeah I saw both of them play with Joan Jett and Poison last year. I was pretty excited to finally see Joan Jett and Motley Crue because I never got a chance to see them back in the 80’s.
MOTLEY CRUE SUCKED ASS! Def Leppard was outstanding but Vince Neil’s voice is completely shot so all he does is screech like a wild banshee. He’s horrible. I know the lyrics to all their songs but couldn’t understand a fucking word he said. They just cranked up the volume wicked high to drown him out. Luckily they were the headliners so we could enjoy the other bands, but barely made it through three Motley Crue songs before we said, “Fuck this!” and left. But Def Leppard puts on an amazing show. Saw Def Leppard on the Hysteria tour at Orange County Speedway in Middletown, NY back in July of ‘88 and they were great. Saw Crue (Warrant opened for them lol) in Charlotte, NC February of ‘90. No reason to ruin good memories by seeing them older and worse off.

Bob Weir and Mickey Hart have been playing the same songs for 58 years! Over 6,000 shows since 1965, 3,000+ since Jerry Garcia died. I still never get tired of their music. I just went to four Dead and Co shows. But I can’t help but wonder if Bob Weir is sick of playing the same songs for so long. Granted he wrote a lot of them, but it’s gotta get old. |
