Fuck YES!!! I heart this thread!!!!

Disclaimer *I've had two drinks and being in my 50's, I'm a "cheap date" anymore.

I LOVE covers!  I love hearing how other artists interpret other well-established songs.  And @desertmoon, release the archers is now on "my list"!  Folk Songs are folks songs for a reason; they stand the test of time and connect with people regardless of where they're from or when.  Fan-fucking-tastic stuff!!!!

@SPECTRE
Gretchen Wilson and Heart!?  Hot as shit!

@Quintin
T-Pain?  Fucking T-Pain?!  You're goddamned right!  That was hot as hell, and that band was tight!  Absolutely fantastic!!!

@dlemorte
Maynard is great!  I prefer that to Elton John any day of the week and twice on Sunday!

Two of my favorite covers...

Shinedown - Simple Man (Official Video)

Walk This Way | Aerosmith | funk cover ft. Judith Hill

Mateus Asato is amazing

Funny drummer story...

So over the holiday I went to visit my sister and BiL.  They moved to a "lifestyle" (cough...retirement) community earlier this year about two miles from where they lived before.  When they moved into their previous place almost 20 years ago, I remember visiting them and my sister saying that their neighbor was a drummer in a "regional band" that had moderate success. She's in finance, so like many others not into the "scene" since it's not her gig.   Cool.  I also found out a couple of years later that my BiL was taking drum lessons from said neighbor, and every now and then they'd talk about their great neighbor "Mike".  Well, fast forward to this year.  Post-Covid, I've let everything go.  My hair is long and I haven't shaved in a couple years.  So my nieces are shooting the shit with us and one of them says, "yeah, with uncle Trumpet's new look he reminds us of Mike".  And the other one chimes in, "Yeah, he reminds me of Mr. Portnoy".

I'm like "Holy shit, your neighbor for almost 20 years was Mike Portnoy?!"

Anyway...
