Quoted: Kramer Junction at night, is like an Elephant Graveyard of semi-trucks. One of the most surreal things I've ever seen. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: I know this area. Further out from where I posted about going shooting several weeks ago. Remote desert. To me, this has hit all over it about drugs/grow house. The illegal grows area mostly run by Chinese or Mexican Cartel in the area. The dodge van shown is common to shuttle their tenders in and out. This doesn't seem like a methed up desert broody. This has 'sending a message' all over it. Also HOW the deputies were alerted to the area. Sheriff doesn't patrol this area. AND burned bodies. Nationality of the dead will paint a better picture. This is more on the City of Adelanto vs El Mirage. If you ever drove 395 to Kramer Junction, you know there is a SHIT ton of desert to do whatever. Kramer Junction at night, is like an Elephant Graveyard of semi-trucks. One of the most surreal things I've ever seen. Been a long time since I was on that road. But I have maintained that 395 is one of the best drives in America. From Adelanto to Lee Vining is very interesting terrain and history. Took a Olds Delta 88 Convertible on that trip with rotating girlfriends several times. Rocket 455 with a cruise control. You could set it at 100mph and it felt like you were sitting on the living room couch. Took a Colt Commander LW everytime. But I never murdered anyone. |

Nope, other than to say you can see some strange business meetings in those little desert pullouts at night around Vidal Junction. No doubt there are a lot of multi-million dollar deals and/or mortuary activities that take place in some of those pullouts at night. You just try to unsee that shit, don't slow down, and whatever you do, don't stop at the dusty Junction on those nights. |

Quoted: A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging. View Quote |

Quoted: Hwy. 395 is one of my favorite stretches of road. Deserts, forests, mtns., lakes, rivers. And lots of empty spaces. Were you ever on 395 where it exits I-15, near Apple Valley? That area used to be just flat empty desert. For many miles north of there, it has been built up with tract homes, mini-malls, fast food, etc. It's unbelievable the development in the last 10 years. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Time marches on... I was momentarily shocked to realize I'd made the trip through there 15 years ago. I can't see ever going there again, but the Eastern Sierra is "Beer Commercial Pretty," for those of you who've never been. Decent products at the smokehouse in Bishop, too. In addition to trout fishing, etc... I do miss California. Hwy. 395 is one of my favorite stretches of road. Deserts, forests, mtns., lakes, rivers. And lots of empty spaces. I call that area through Adelanto the High Desert Hood. Same with Hesperia, Victorville and Barstow. |

Quoted: Years ago....I worked for GA-ASI and would do R&D projects at the facility in Adelanto. 2002-2006. ASI had bought the Grey Buttle airport nearby and made it into a kinda secret test facility, and they also improved El Mirage to be used as an alternative test facility. On slow days/nothing scheduled....I would ride for miles on dirt roads and down dry washes with my DRZ 400 enduro. It was all dirt from Adelanto/El Mirage up to north Edwards.....the area east of Edwards base was a treasure trove of cool old history from testing at Edwards. Even back then....the high desert was full of weird and disturbing shit. Hermits in shacks, meth cooks, desert pack rats, and every imaginable type of weirdo with an old trailer, a one-eyed 3 legged dog, and a plot of desert land. It changed for the worse when the growers showed about 10-11 years ago. If you check out google maps/earth....you will see literally hundreds of properties with grow houses, some newer....some abandoned. Some of the large commercial buildings have also been turned into grow operations. But what happened out there this week is definitely some cartel sending a message type of shit. . View Quote They even added a 1/2 hour video to Hunter’s Ed. classes in CA warning of the dangers of hunting in Humboldt County. The cartels control grow operations in Humboldt so hunters have to be careful of booby traps, illegal pesticides, mountains of trash, and armed guards when hunting in the Redwoods. |

Quoted: I started desert racing there in late 70s & through 80s. Road out to Lucerne Valley had one gas station and one restaurant with a dirt parking lot near the 15. Then a few scattered ramshackle house. That was it. Now, as you said, the whole area is 100% developed. Wall-to-wall houses and strip malls in every direction. Around 1980, I had a chance to buy 30 acres for $10K. But I couldn't raise the $10k. I used to dream of retiring to the desert. Not so much any more. Red Mountain, Johannesburg, and Randsburg haven't changed much, though. Spent a day there last spring. View Quote Randsburg is a rockin' place. These pics are from recently. They know how to party. I find it interesting that all six bodies where shot in the back of the head and than someone tried to burn the bodies.
All victims are hispanic, and the location is near an area rife with multiple marijuana plantations. Sinaloa cartel operates in that area. This was a sicario hit, to send message to someone or someones. |

It's East of Kingman on I-40 Exit 66 where the Petro is. I think he's only open on the weekend though. |

I just hope no detachable mags in excess of 10 rounds were used. That would be tragic.
On a positive note that area looks like it has some great coyote calling. Shotgun country! |

I can feel fine remote in the woods but remote in the desert creeps me out I can't really rationally explain it At least in the desert you can see who's coming for miles. And there’s nowhere to hide.
