Supposedly only 1 or 2% of tornadoes are anti-cyclonic.

But I’ve lived in Oklahoma my entire life, have watched thousands of tornado coverage programs on TV, and never once heard of one. Never even heard them mentioned in the Skywarn Spotter training courses.

Oh, gosh, I thought OP was saying that the storm was rotating clockwise & that's normal for supercells. Now I'm realizing they might have been saying the actual tornado was was rotation clockwise!

BTW, whoever said "Australian tornado" cracked me up. lol

Just looked at Sulphur, Ok on Google Maps. It is much larger that I thought. If it really got leveled the way people are saying, that is hard to imagine. No words.

With daylight here, I expect the news stations will be able to show us all the damage.

Was a restless evening/night but everything went right below me or right above.

Well shit, hearing reports of fatalities.

News 5 said there are reports of 16 tornadoes right now but they are still looking at data and expect the number will go up.

TWC  has some incredible tornado teams footage of monster tornados crossing right in front of storm chaser, incredible and scary.

Then teams on the ground showing only interior closets left intact as rest of homes utterly destroyed, debris field as far as can be seen in neighborhood in Omaha Neb.

I know alot of good people from Oklahoma.

Including a former DHL DC-8 CA, who later became Chief Pilot for Samaritan's Purse DC-8 operation. I'm sure the new 757 is being loaded up, along with trucks for Oklahoma.

Damn right we are. We will pull together and come out stronger than before.

Sulphur is about 30 miles to my south. Cut too close to home for me.

Morris was apparently hit last night as well.  I was watching that storm coverage intently, since as it passed thru Okemah it appeared to be headed straight for me but turned east several miles south of here and headed for Morris.

It's somewhat conflicting, I feel blessed that I was spared, but sad that the misery was inflicted on somebody else.

We've had several near misses in the past several years both in Edmond and now here in McClain County. In the last two years Blanchard has been in the direct path at least twice and  both times the path has turned at what felt like the last moment to spare us. Last year I watched what would turn into an EF1 spin up directly in front of my house pass half a mile north of me ending up hitting Noble.

I know what you mean, tornadoes went right above me and right below me and I didn’t get so much as a sprinkle of rain. My wife said this morning it was almost like there was a bubble over our small farm. I’m so happy we made it through unscathed, but I feel terrible for those who were impacted.
