Neat!

I'm curious if you saw many other PCC's that were not AR based?  Scorpions, Stribog, SIG, MP5, P90?  (Not sure you can use a P90?) And how well those did?

And what portion of PCC were 16" and what were SBR (or Armbraced?)

I saw a mix, primarily my buddies and I were using 16” guns (sometimes shorter barrels which get pinned & welded) but one guy was shooting an SBR in my group

PractiScore.com and find local matches. I feel steel challenge to be the best way to get into low stress matches and learn the basics. Make sure to tell people you’re new and usually you’ll get good dudes that help you not get disqualified!

NJ doesn’t allow SBRs and that’s the trap I move home to and give the borrowed mags back to buddies :(

The comp is great though for a few reasons:
1) don’t have to report to ATF where I’m going w the gun
2) keeps weight of gun between my hands which is a huge benefit people don’t realize

Steel flips up.

Scoring and taping that many cardboard targets would suck.

Good shooting, OP.

That's a fairly bad idea for a competition gun.

10.5" barrel: https://www.opticsplanet.com/jp-enterprises-supermatch-barrel-9mm.html (I use a rainier arms mod 2 10.5" barrel but this seems good too from what my buddy said and it's cheaper)

BCG: https://www.opticsplanet.com/jp-enterprises-enhancedbolt-9mm-ar-bolt-carrier-group.html - the stainless version

Buffer: Kynshot 5020SS Buffer

Stock: MFT Battlelink Stock

Trigger: Hiperfire Eclipse with the green springs (included)

Grip: Ergo grip

Handguard Grip: Ergo handguard grips

507Comp-GR and LaRue lower 1/3rd cowitness QD RMR riser

Luckily I have a lot of practice with the 10rds in NJ 🥲 but I will say spraying no reloads is fun

I really wish I could pick up another upper for my AR-V so I could build out a similar upper. I think I'd only be able to cut a few ounces from my current setup but it could help a little. It's my biggest gripe with PSA not supporting the platform.

I like shooting steel, but I also like some movement.  That seems like it would have been a lot more fun if those stages were broken up into 2-4 target arrays with some movement thrown in and some different shooting positions.

If no movmement, maybe 2x the number of stages with about half the targets per stage.  Just my opinion...

nah, just run a couple supers in your mag early so the clock picks them up, then run subs for the rest of the stage. Automatically get a lower score

having been at that range, many shooters could barely tolerate the movement from their trucks to the bays. Running and gunning is not the goal for this adventure....

All of that overlapping steel!! I don’t think most people realize how difficult it is to avoid just blasting at white instead of individual targets. And how bad it sucks to hit the one behind and the one you want is just sitting there looking at you.

Nice shooting.
