Probably on Nebraska or some other central plains state.

If they did it to Florida,  Florida would launch  off the crust and fly around like a fucking giant helium dildo balloon with a leak, flying all over the planet, dropping more meth powered Florida Man around the world fucking up all kinds of shit.

I don’t think the “Universe of Fuck bingo card” predicted that until 2026.

Jokes on them.

Soviet missiles were so inaccurate there’s really no way to further degrade their accuracy.

There were a lot of crazy ideas in the '60's.  What was the one with the nuclear powered cruise missile that flew around autonomously dropping nuclear bombs and radiation everywhere?  Lol, I think they cancelled the program only because they were worried the Russkies would find out about it and make their own.

Project Pluto: Project Pluto and the trouble with Russia's nuclear-powered cruise missile

It gets mentioned here a few times a year

That wouldn't stop the rotation of the moon.

If we could make a “sudden stop” of the earths rotation…wouldn’t we all die…from getting thrown off the earth…

I hope the investigation of this plan ended five minutes after a physicist saw it and said it was retarded because of several reasons.

Probably just a wild white paper to prove the wonks were thinking outside the box.

Lol. Pumping the brakes at 1000mph is gonna cause a whole lot more problems than a few nukes.

Even if this was possible it's a fucked up plan. Miss the intended targets and fuck up a bunch of unintended targets. AKA American citizens and infrastructure.

This would mean that Soviet nuclear missiles would overshoot the missile bases they were aimed at.

And hit the cities nearby.

Thanks assholes.

I'm pretty sure they were likely going to hit nearby cities anyway.

Iearth= 9.69e+37 kg-m2 = (2/5)M*R2

omega =  7.3E-5  rad/sec  =  2pi / (24hr*60 min/hr * 60 sec/min)

Learth = I * omega

Learth = 7.0E+33 kg-m2/sec

Oh, nevermind with th ecalculations,...

They're going to land somewhere.

Anywhere is too much.  They have to be destroyed before they detonate.
