The best steamed oysters I've ever had were at our men's Bible class annual oyster roast. It was held at the local Coca-Cola plant, where they'd disconnect the boiler used for steam cleaning the bottles and connect it to a home made a pipe manifold to. A large hole had been made in the sides of galvanized garbage cans and an expanded metal rack placed in the bottom. The cans were placed on the manifold, partially filled with oysters, and then blasted with superheated steam. They were done in only a couple of minutes. We ate on wooden pallets placed atop of Coke syrup barrels.

I love them in coastal areas. Kind of scared to eat them in Arkansas.

I will eat them grilled year round but most places want $30 for a dozen oysters. Wtf? In the winter I will eat them raw on a cracker with hot sauce because a local place has $1 oysters at happy hour.

Good stuff. Only thing I don't like is around here it's hard to find them for cheap. Usually $25 for 6 or something like that at a restaurant.

Yes, I am a fan of raw, grilled, smoked, stewed, and Rockefeller oysters.

They make my girl get all worked up, because it reminds her of swallowing other things, so then I get lucky.

Yep. I no longer eat raw oysters but steamed, fried, grilled, baked, pretty much any cooked way I am good with.

Some of the best I have ever eaten were at the Acme Oyster House in Sandestin. Dang they were good!

Lived on the Atlantic coast most of my life, so yeah. I used to live in a small fishing village and the oystermen would leave a sack of oysters on your door, just stick a check in the door.

I tried them when I was a kid and thought they were disgusting. I am big on texture and to a degree, smell. I don't think I would enjoy them as an adult.
