While normally I would congratulate someone for trying to lose weight and improve their health, I think the reason you get the snarky replies is that Lizzo was routinely held up as one of the poster children for the healthy at any weight mantra. I believe one of her many quotes was "health is not just determined by what you look like on the outside"...
This led many women around the world to hear from a rich and famous celebrity what they wanted to hear and ultimately what they wanted to believe.... in that being obesely fat was "Healthy" and you can "be beautiful at any weight". Anybody who stated the contrary was shamed as an evil white cock man oppressor. The reality is that she probably went to her doctor who told her in no uncertain terms...."you are going to fucking die before you reach 50 years old unless you lose at least 100lbs". She then threw all of her money, celebrity, and oodles free time to transform herself from grossly obese to to just still really fat. What happens to all the folks who don't have the money and time to hire doctors, trainers, nutritionist, gym memberships, and tractor trailer loads of Ozempic to try and right the ship before its too late and who were told by this idiot its OK to eat ruffles dipped in country crock and be 300+lbs. Maybe good for you on losing some weight but it doesn't undo the damage she did using her celebrity soapbox telling everybody its ok to be enormously obese and calling out folks who fairly pointed out that 300+lbs will lead to an early grave and a mountain of medical bills for society to cover for ~99% of the folks who go down this same path. |
