How much ? Only about 14,000 made. A low number in the gun manufacturing game. Supposedly many destroyed during Civil War. Many probably just used up with everyday use. $25K-$35K for pedestrian guns in verious conditions. Depends how bad the buyer wants the gun. Some higher. A lot more for guns with Civil War provenance or owned my someone of noteriety. Engraved gun presented to President Lincoln as a sales pitch is in the Smithsonion. Mine was about $30K and I thought I got a decent deal. |

But I like everything about it except they could have left off the dumb safety. I hope to take it deer hunting this year. |

16" Henry .22 and a .44 Henry X, very happy with both rifles. I have an RPP handguard for the .44 I need to install. .22 and .44 make a great levergun combo!

Do you handload for it with slightly faster powder to get a more complete burn? @towerofpower94 I don't have my notes in front of me and it varies by load, but IIRC, I get 200-300 more FPS with 240 grain bullets from my 12" rifle versus my 5.5" revolver. I don't own anything longer in .44, but I recall reading what other people were getting out of 16 inch barrels and the difference was negligible.... maybe 50 more FPS from 16" vs 12". |
