Short and quick.
US Army 11B. Active 06/82 to 01/86. I was extended 6 months. OSUT Ft. Benning, BAS. 1/75th Ranger BN 3/187th Inf Ft. Campbell, KY Air Assault School, Recondo School A host of other schools. Deployed to Panama in 1983 and 1984 and attended JOTC and some classes at the School of the Americas. Deployed many places including Puerto Rico, Alaska 2x's, Summer and Cold Weather Warfare School. Assumed Unit Supply Sgt duties after the Supply Sgt retired. Never put a grunt in charge of supplies.... Promoted to E-5 in Feb 1985, reduced to E-4 Sep 1985 due to Company grade article 15 (it was worth it!). Married a 311th MI Linguist E-4 in May 1985. Divorced Dec 1986. Was scheduled for Sinai Peacekeeping force duty but could not get extended again. Good thing because that was the flight that went down at Gander, New Foundland in Jan 1986 (maybe it was Dec 85, can't remember now). I lost good friends on that flight. ETS Ft. Campbell Ky 01/86 |
