From the Biggerhammer site. The "C" is Colt, and the "AF" is Alcoa Forge. Apparently the plain "AF" is Bushmaster.

The "AF" is the mark of Alcoa Forge.

The splintered "A" is Anchor Forge. I've yet to see a CMT A3 Upper Receiver without this "A" mark.

I have.  Both of my flat top uppers; sold as being made by CMT, are minus any forge mark.  Others have posted the same comment.

I suppose it's posssible that the dealers I bought them from sold me an off brand, but they are two of the highest profile folks on this site, and I would certainly hope that  they wouldn't pull something of that sort.

triburst1,
I have never seen an "AF" forge mark like the one in your pic. The info I post is from Chris Bartocci's book, "Black Rifle II", p296.
CA:                     Colt/Alcoa
C AF:                  Colt/ Accurate Forge(purchased by Cerro Forge in 2000)
(keyhole):           Cerro Forge
A(splintered):    Anchor Harvey
Is your pic an upper or a carry handle?

It's an A2 upper.

The flat top Bushmaster rifles I have do not have any markings on the upper, but they are about 5 years old now. Email Bushmaster and ask them if your A2 upper is theirs and who made the raw forging.
