727 "Gordon Carbine" clone. A2 with field sites (727 style). Started originally with a Wyndham pinned 14.5 M4 barrel. I had it chopped to 12.5" and a Allen Engineering collar fabricated for the AEM5 suppressor. Skinny handguards and Brownells Car15 stock. Geissele G2S trigger. Aimpoint 5000 red dot. PSA M162 lower, stamped. Rustoleum khaki, green, and olive paint.

Without the suppressor of course. |

Samal,
Hello and thanks for posting the wonderful photos. I particularly like the photo of the A2 and the Uzi. Nice combination! I have been watching this thread for some time now and decided to make a clone IDF rifle from one of the AR's I already owned. I ordered a set of bands and a couple of the newer style slings from Zahal, and found an older style sling on e bay. I really like the slings! All the best to you! |

looking back, it is an A1 upper with round HG... but I thought I remember having A2 lower on the rifle and it did have forward assist... I know because I used it once... maybe I am wrong... it's been 30 years

I just bought a Brownell's 12.7" barrel to mount on a C7 upper. Even have a retro brace, and was planning an IDF pistol... but now I'm wondering. If the BATF bans braces (and I think they will) or says that rifle-caliber pistols aren't pistols, then I'm screwed unless I register it. Anyone else mulling this kind of decision over right now?

I thought I was finally done with building ARs cause of kids and other life responsibilities taking precedent
Then earlier this year traded a Glock 42 for an AR pistol I had helped build so my buddy could have a carry gun. I was in process of reassembling it using a quality barrel (had some no known brand barrel) and changing out the brace when ATF started asking a fool. When I was debating about how I was going to continue, I came across a great deal on a 16āSpikes Tactical barrel. Then remembered I had a Larue 7ā rail that @hueto hooked me up with. Was almost about to send the barrel off to get chopped, then came across a Nodak A1 upper on the EE. Decided i needed to go semi retro cause thatās where I spent most of my time when I first joined the forum As stands, the specs will be as follows -PSA grim reaper lower (got it free, donāt hate) -PSA LPK -MagPul enhanced aluminum trigger guard -H2 buffer and Wilson combat recoil spring -CAR stock -Nodak M16A1 upper -Spikes Tactical 16ā carbine barrel -Spikes Tactical nitride gas tube -Larue Rail -PSA BCG premium full auto On order to finish it out -Aero precision upper parts kit -A1 rear sight kit from Brownells -Front sight parts from Aero -Gas tube Picking up a Surefire 952 locally tomorrow Itās going to be a mutt, but mixture of IDF/GWOT goodness. And itās going to be krylone cause I spray almost all my ARs, currently half are painted and I fight the urge to do the other half Attached File Attached File |

Attached File Attached File My KISS rifle, a 3-legged dog of a clone-ish XM177. Itās not clone-correct; (1/7 cut down to 13.1ā Colt pencil barrel, F-marked FSB, Anderson lower), but itās simple, reliable and accurate. It also weighs half of what my BCM SOCOM does when the suppressor is attached. |

Found a show on Amazon Prime called Commandments. Show is about Hasidic Jews in the IDF going through basic. Some combat, lots of KISS rifles, and some cute IDF girls.
Worth a watch for some info into the process, don't know about accuracy, but lots of old ARs. Commandments or Kipat Barzel (Iron Yarmulke) |
