Is the SR-M110 SASS kit available to the public (minus the suppressor, of course)? Or at the very least, is the rifle itself available, as a stand-alone?

Sometimes you have to wait more than a half hour to get a question answered.

I'm sure Knights Armament could answer your question if you called.

You cannot currently purchase a Knights Armament SR-M110 from any dealer...including Kneseks. Well...I guess you could purchase it...you just wouldn't get the rifle for a long time. There are a few internet dealers that have the bad habit of listing rifles that are not available. Kneseks is one of the better ones...they list a lot of stuff not in stock or available...but they deliver when they get them.
The last "advertised" retail price for an SR-M110 was $16,313.75. Thats for the entire SR-M110 system including suppressor. Like all of Knights complete rifles...civilian sales are on hold until they fill all military contracts. The only exception is the SR-15 Match Rifle...and soon...the SR-15 E3 Carbine. They are being released to the public in limited numbers. There was also a small "glitch" that saw a few MK11 MOD0s released a few months ago. The only Stoner Rifles you will see anytime soon ar SR-15s. You're looking at a long wait for the SR-M110 unfortunately. Its price tag is hefty...but it currently wears the crown in the SR-25 family. Its cherry...but I still prefer the MK11...I like my Black Rifles black.

Is the price based solely on lack of availability?

Hows does it compare performance-wise to say Armalites SASS or the DPMS version?

Actually, there are SASS rifles for sale.  The ones used for the .mil test are going for $50K per kit and some fielded ones are going for $20K per kit.

I think the "glitch" with the MK-11's being released was changing the MK-11 Spec's to line up with the M-110 SASS which has some product improvements.

I understand the Armalite almost got the prize so I would look there first.

? I know were the fielded ones are so I would be suprised to hear they are for sale since they have been in the hands of units for less then a year. Some of those are the same as the test guns. Then again for $20,000-50,000 they may have been stolen.

These rifles are for sale by KAC and the prices were quoted by Trey Knight.

Holy...I didn't know they had those for sale. Hell man they just came out! How the heck do they have surplus used rifles already. Is it one of those where people "in thw know" are getting them or something? Either way thats pretty damn cool. I had to pass on a sweet SR-25 signed by the Knights family for lack of cash. I wasn't happy. I'll have to post pics of my SR-25 shrine. In addition to the rifle...I have about every bit of SR-25 schwag known to man...one that is three inches, one that is six inches, and that is an exact replica in every way that fires pellets...and the real deal of course. I'd love nothing more than to put an SR-M110 on top.

Not going to argue it, but something doesn't add up. Since I can't add to my comments based on my contract I'll let it go.....................

This is as close to a SASS as I'm going to get for the foreseeable future.  Started life as a SR25 Match with a 24" barrel and the fiberglass tube.  I found the SASS URX rail at Operation Parts, added a 600m BUIS, TD bipod and Magpul PRS.  I switched the LT mount shown in the pics for the original set of 30mm KAC high rings,  Scope is a NF 3-12 x 56.

The rifle shoots sub MOA with the proper ammo all day long.  This is the fourth KAC rifle I own.  I hope they get some new products back into the marketplace soon.

Here is my USMC MK11/M110 clone (assembled by GAP). Lacking factory adjustable stock and newer M110 flash hider (had to make do with original SR25 FH). Just haven't been able to get it to the range. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r26/paulhig/IMG_2111.jpg
