I personally find the Gear Sector mounts too bulky and have switched to Danger Close mounts as they are lighter and lower profile.

Cheers

I lucked out a scored a unfired 14.5 carbine upper with mams for a song, pinned it today and threw my new lower that has been just sitting in the safe for something special. I'm pretty excited for it and I think it will quickly become my new primary rifle.

That carbine is super cool.

I'm in the process of building up a Block I-ish type right now as it's what I started out with back when I got serious about ten years ago.  Out dated stuff but not really any less effective.

So here is how my Friday night went....

Started off with this:

But I kinda wanted to get into an 11.5" build and since the clone desire was wearing off, I figured I'd look for a URX ii

So then I got one

After that, I figured I'd go ahead and get a new optic as well to try out

But i couldnt let a new optic go without a sweet mount, right?

So then I took it all apart and got all the crap together

Completed Build Specs
Palmetto state armory lower receiver
Geissele G2S bang switch
Standard PSA LPK
Magpul MIAD
Magpul RVG
B5 Enhance SOPMOD
PRI Gas Buster
LMT Bolt and Carrier
Ballistic Advantage 11.5 CLGS Barrel
Standard A2 hider
Knights Armament URIX II handguard
Aimpoint PRO red dot
American Defense Manufacturing ADM68 Cantilever mount
Streamlight TLR Long gun kit
Insight technologies Dual pressure switch
Magpul Gen 2 BUS

Knights stuff so far:

Family Pic for good measure

Unless Utah convinces me to rattle can the rail, I think it looks good as is ..... Will probably get tired of it by next week and paint it though

ETA.... didnt make a full day...

@MNRidesHonda - the guys who cerakoted the rifle didn't align it properly. Doesn't effect recoil, at least not from what I can tell. I need to re-align it one of these days

Getting close on this one. Swapping fde parts for black, replacing a few parts, and spraying it.

Hoping for an MOA @ 100 with this one. Shot 2 loads that were good in my old bolt gun. Happy with results. Forgot to zero my calipers to .308 on the first photo so that group was about .67 MOA!

I had a new long FF RAS sitting around so I sourced a Colt 14.5" barrel, upper receiver and BCG and came up with this recce-ish Colt 6921.  I still need a gas tube roll pin so just mocked up for now.

With ACOG....

With Eotech..

Cheers

I kinda wish I still had my Elcan Spectre DR.  Give it more of a Block II-ish look.

Looks great, Buddy. Thinking about picking up one of those KAC mounts shortly. Between that and the Geissele.

Thanks.  Being an updated design, I suspect the Geissele is probably the better choice of mounts, however I dig the timeless look of the KAC.  Visually, it would appear the Geissele has borrowed design cues from both KAC and ADM, yet still managed to incorporate their own flavor such as multiple reversed-picatinny segments.  Pretty slick.
