Why would you mix the two colors on purpose? I can see it if you just wanted to use up some left over parts until you could get them all the same color. It would sort of remind me of a clown car with the doors, hood and trunk all painted all different colors. I have seen some similar and they look goofy....<><....:)

i remember seeing a rifle on here the was duarcoted OD green on the receivers but had FDE furniture...i still think thats one of the best looking rifles ive ever seen on here. |

Assuming that it was built on a standard black receiver, a rifle with FDE or OD furniture wouldn't be one color either. Two tone camo isn't uncommon. Receiver in one color, be it black, OD, FDE, what have you, and contrasting furniture in a single color looks nice most of the time. Once you start getting into the calico cat look though, not so much IMO. Get too many colors in the mix with the furniture and it starts looking thrown together like an old beater car with replacement body panels from the junkyard all from different donors and none painted to match. |

We should have a contest for who could get the most different exposed colors on one rifle, and chrome counts double. And camoflage does not count since that had nothing to do with the original post. The winner would win a big red rubber clown nose....<><....:) |

Well ive seen some examples of mixing the different colors of the Magpull XTM rail panels and they look pretty good . I just am looking for some other examples of the combo to see what I think of it

I don't usually like to mix colors too much, but... I got the fde pmags cheap, and ordered a black sling but got this one. Too lazy to send it back. Kinda like it now.

Not a big fan of mixing different colored accessories.....but have wanted either an FDE gun with OD accessories, or an OD gun with FDE accessories for awhile. By "gun" I mean receivers, rail, and barrel....by "accessories" I mean pistol grip, AFG, buttstock, and possibly mags/BUIS/optic if its an option.
I think an OD gun with FDE accessories in 6.8spc would make a niely camoflaged deer rifle! |

It definitely made me want to build one the same way after seeing it.. check out M4-Tuna's PSD of page 3 about 9 posts down..it's a LWRC MRE (multi regional earth) with OD furniture..also, on page 2, Buddyhoohaw has a mulitcam that it sick!!! Here ya go... I was too lazy to walk into the gun room and find a green upper, but this black upper has foliage green XTM panels. Camera sucks too, so the foliage green almost looks FDE. I tried swapping stocks, but one is mil-spec and one is commercial, so it was a no go and I don't have any green PMAGS because the green AR is 7.62x39.

He's a combat vet and wanted something with the features his M4 didn't have. He sunk a lot of money into it, but he couldn't be happier. The receivers came from Red River Tactical in the FDE. I believe Mega Machine Shop make the receivers for them. The foliage green I had to have color matched from a piece of a Magpul MIAD grip. Chris at KG coatings helped with that. The finish is KG Gunkote. I took about 8 hours to sandblast, preheat, spray, and bake all the parts. |
