I used some mineral spirits to remove the Krylon paint and found no rust. I think it was the paint giving it that look.

The vast majority of the parts I believe are correct or seen in the wild although maybe not in this configuration, and a few parts out of left field at my discretion. It may not fall into the clone definition but I'd greatly appreciate any advice you all may have to offer. Upper; -Colt C square stamped M4 upper receiver sp63528 -Colt 14.5" Socom barrel -Colt stainless carbine length gas tube -Colt C stamped bolt carrier group -Geissele Mk8 13'' tan rail -Geissele Airborne charging chandle, tan -Kac tan front folding sight 99051 -Kac 600m rear micro folding rear sight -Blitzkreig tritium and high vis front sight post -DD Mk12 gas block -Battle Comp 1.5 pinned and welded to the barrel -Tango Down tan vfg Lower - Colt M4 Carbine roll stamped LE, pre QR lower -Colt A2 grip -Colt lower parts kit -Colt ambidextrous safety -Accuwedge -Geissele tan 6 position buffer tube with super 42 braided wire buffer spring (run a H weight buffer?) -Geissele SSA trigger -LMT tan Sopmod stock, were ones with and without Qd points both issues during block II? NonQD SOPMOD stock is best SOPMOD stock. B5 is good to go. Also skip the tan buffer tube. Not very SOPMOD. Keep the Colt buffer tube. H2 is Block II spec but use what runs best in your rifle. |

I know it's not a great pic... but Jones wouldn't give up the gun... she thinks its hers. Any way, I started this thing about 20+ pages back or so. It took a long time and it was totally worth it. I tried to keep it clone correct and close to as issued. I'm waiting on a SF Gen 1 SOCOM RC and when I have the money I'll put an ATPIAL-C on it. This thing is freaking awesome. I just wanted to say thanks to all the people here that helped me out and to all the IG clone guys too. I'm on to my next build.... a 28th EOD clone. Oh yeah... and my girlfriend wants to exchange 2 Mk18 Mod 0's instead of wedding rings. Lol

The M203 is a Colt registered DD. Unfortunately, the Elcan isn't a SU-230 but I don't really care at this point. |
