What are you looking for multi purpose or plain jane?

OKC3 Ontario Marine Corps Bayonet its a a 8" serrated bottom bowie blade that has the lock mechanism peened to the full solid tang unlike the threaded weak sectional tang of the M9.For cheap and strong M7 also peened full tang.

Thanks, just looked at both of those and like the OKC3 a lot. Just what I was looking for.

Its heavy and solid just the way I like it I have 2 one that mounts and on the other I had a buddy weld up the lock mechanism and I cut off the muzzle ring making it a heavy duty fighting knife (-:

I had mine for about 8 years now and it's still as good as it was new, if you look around the net you could find them at around for under $100.

This same bayonet also have a OKC 10 Tanto (style blade) bayonet system but personally I prefer the traditional issued blade style.

Here's the Ontario online store address but if you look around more you might even get a better price.

The last time I dropped $500 on a blade it had the name Randall on it..for half that price I own a couple of EK knives too...$500 for a bayonet is a little steep but fighting knives on the other hand

Best Bayonet? That would be the Survival Brand made in China speshul! For a mere $25 bucks plus 30 minutes with a dremel, you get this completely unnecessary and impractical sword that fits on the muzzle of your AR!

In all seriousness though the Ontario M9 is an awesome choice.

I like that one as well but have stayed away as the designer is a made up a whole bunch of lies about his military service and is a SOF phoney.

I just ordered a m7.  I like the "look" and for what it is but the m9 has a hollow handle you can put stuff in so that may have more function.

Won't work on a 14.5" middy.  Need either a 14.5" carbine, 16" mid-length or 20" rifle length to correctly mount a bayonet.

A while back, CCMG made a bayonet that would fit on dissy rifles. That should work on a 14.5" middy right?
