I'm looking to buy a new forend for my middie, but am torn. I like the quad rail systems, especially those where the top rail meets up with my flat top rail on my upper. So a rail that creates a continuous rail on top is important to me. I'm also going to replace my gas block/fsp with a low profile block, get a forend long enough to go over the block, and put a flip-up front sight on the rail. Lightweight is also a good quality. I tend to gravitate towards the longer forends also (13"+). But to cover the block entirely, I think that it needs to be at least 11" long.

Would you be willing to post some pics with your setup and specifically state the brand, model, length, & weight of your forend?

Thanks!

(I also realize that there is likely a thread on here already with the same request. If so, please link it to me. I couldn't find it if it exists)

Daniel Defense RIS II
12.25 Inches
17.7 oz

Its super thin compared to all other quad rail's its the best rail I have ever used! It locks up more solid than any rail I've had. The Black rail is on the EE right now but I am keeping my FDE one for life! If I built another rifle with a long rail I might try out the KAC URX 3.1 that thing is sweet. If I was going for a super lightweight build I'd look into the MI FF tube. Its so thin. and has a continuous top rail.

I replaced the railed gas block with a low profile and added the quad-rail. It's an 11" Troy BattleRail Bravo. The rifle has a standard 16" barrel (for length comparison). I put the Magpul XTM rail covers on the sides. The rail was a quick and easy install and it fits perfectly, very solid. (They also make a 13")

Rock River Arms Advanced half quad free-float hand guard. 16" .750 barrel. They have a rifle length one that might clear the low profile gas block on a mid gas set up to give the length your looking for.

I'm liking the Midwest rigs. Especially for the price. The DD ones are just a bit more than I want to spend. But what are you trying to get out of your black one?

Not the best pictures. My rifle and my buddy's rifle after we just got done chopping the FSB and installing my Centurion Arms C4 12" rail. My rifle is the bottom one. We both really like our Centurion rails.
