I don't hate the logo either, Fredericksburg is only 1.5 hrs away as well. I want one, but the safe is getting full.

I fired mine yesterday and it's a nice rifle.  Does anyone know if the barrel stampings match the military M16 barrel?(since FN makes military M16's too).  I matched it with some older FN barrels and the font and FN symbol were different.  Wondering if new M16 barrels match the pictures posted here.

Very, very nice.

But I have to say, if I had my way...I'd lose the etched logo on the right and add a milled one in the usual spot on the left side.

Other than that, looks perfect. Enjoy.

Agree, that logo on the right of the magwell is hideous.

other than that, it's a nice rifle.

Man, too bad they couldn't have stamped/engraved the roll mark a bit smaller on the other side

Congrats OP

They're not the same at all, I have an A4 upper whose markings are completely different. FNH produces these while FNMI in SC makes them for the military.

That is a nice looking rifle. I have to admit the logo is growing on me. Definitely not a deal breaker.

Nice rifle.
One thing for certain, if they have roll mark or engraving of the FN logo on the left side, they will definitely see an increase of sales on these.

some more pics of the rifle

noticed the letter "B" not sure what it stands for but also seems to be the same "B" as on the barrel if it means anything

and the carbine, actually changed out the HG to the more slimmer design....original is more beefier

Plastic

The one I got to play with also had a plastic trap door, though so is the Colt A4. The bolt carrier had no markings as did the extractor, the bolt had a odd MP marking on it, not the normal F carrier, F extractor and MPF bolt. I wasn't impressed but, to each his own.

I don't get the hate, I love the rollmark

I hope that wasn't directed at me? I don't hate it, just wish they'd engrave it instead, or the FNMI simple one  If they'd do that I'd buy a lower in a heart beat and slap it onto my A4 upper, winning!!

OP nice rifle. I'm still not sure why Colt or FN couldn't build a proper semi A4 but it's still bitchin.

As for the logo I view it as a non issue.

1. Flat black rattle can the billboard logo away

2. Visit a trophy shop with a computer controlled industrial fiber laser ( it can engrave to factory depth )

3. Show them the FN govt. rollmark/scan it in

4. Have the laser blast it in, FN was kind enough to leave you plenty of room. Darken it immediately with alumiblack or leave it raw if you are a badass. Make sure the operator doesn't alter the serial number. Make sure he does not inhale the Alumiblack before setting up your project.

5. For maybe 20 minutes time, $20 to the engraver and a slight headache from the Krylon/Alumiblack you can soothe the hate on AR15.com

People do the repro logos all the time on those NODAK retro guns, it would be fun on an FNH15

went to my local range yesterday to shoot the rifle for the first time, but to find out the 50y section was reserved for a class.  so only got to shoot at the 25y pistol range.  put together some handloads the night before using berger 77gr match BT/varget powder.  so this is my first 15 shots yesterday using irons witha a front bag.  aiming for middle target and my first 5 shot grouping indicates, then started to adjust as by stringing just to get into red.  then next shot group #3=5shot.  need to get on some private land to try 100y,
