I know people have ar's for SHTF, Home defense, clone rifles, etc. but do you guys have any dedicated hunting ar rifles or dedicated hunting uppers for your ar?  Post up your pics, I'm interested in a dedicated hunting upper and want some motivation.

I built this to be the ultimate whitetail and pig rifle, whether stalking, in a blind, or in a stand.  It is a PSA 6.8 SPCII upper with a light profile FN CHF CL barrel.  MI-SS G2 12" handguard, BRT Covert Comp linear compensator (to make it more bearable to shoot without ear pro), Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 3-9x40 with Firedot SPR reticle, and a Burris Fastfire III in an offset mount for snap shots on close game.

PSA 7.62x39 16" upper just bought mainly for the occasional deer and regular target practice.

Nice! Here are my two .277 wolvies.

My 18" (top) could be considered a dedicated hunting rifle/Upper (that's not the current muzzle device, btw).

My SHTF/HD weapons are my hunting weapons.
They are set up a variety of ways that would seem to fit various hunting needs that don’t require larger calibers.
I have a 24” upper that is used for target shooting and will be used for pdogs if I ever get around to it.

I'd been thinking I needed a 20 inch rifle for hunting and I stumbled across this- Colt at Bud's

I'm a complete shameless Colt whore anyway so I couldn't pass it up.

My 16" carbine built for 3 gun (now retired for physical reasons) is now my 5,56 hunter, 2x7 Vortex Viper and Gissele 2 stage trigger, free float forearm, Magpul VTR buttstock. <1moa at 100 yards, works well for neck shots on dear. My 6.8SPC is almost identical with a 2x7 Vortex Crossfire and CMC trigger set. Both now primary hunting rifles, but other  carbines and rifles in the safe for fun times.

I don't have a dedicated "hunting" upper, but if I wanted to stay within an AR15 platform and use it for hunting of medium up to large game, I'd strongly lean towards the 270AR IMO.

My next suggestion would be the 6.5 Grendel if one wanted "the best" of the doublestack options, again IMO.
