Wasn't looking for a new lower today, but my favorite LGS stocks Spikes lowers. While looking through them, I noticed the following serial number and I couldn't resist buying it. Ever done the same?

No, but I did find a NOS lower from a company that had rollmark with the location of their previous operations, which is now hilariously anti-gun. So of course I had to buy the lower with that town name on it.

No but I have a lower that is 0002

Yes I have one from a local company that has the serial number of my year of birth. I wasn't going to buy a lower, but then the owner comes and says weren't you born in 19XX I have the lower for you.

Bought a 9mm lower because the SN matches a date in history that has interest to me, and it will enhance planned engraving I will have done.

Didn't buy it for the 1 digit serial... bought it because it was a stainless steel black A1.

But a one digit serial is pretty cool.

I almost purchased a glock because the serial started with FUC

Group Industries Uzi's, had the House of Representatives bill number...
That banned machine guns. As the guns model number.

The serial # on my 1st AR was the same as my age at the time I bought it.

ETA:  While that's not WHY I bought it, it is why I won't sell it.

I have a 3 digit Spikes lower. I didn't buy it because of that but I will keep it because of it.

Does that count?

no but i bought a Arsenal Bulgarian SA-93 AK-47 back during the ban years from a seller at a gun show. he said the original buyer backed out of the deal because of the serial number and he refused to refund the guys deposit. i got it for $250.00 and he threw in a 75 round drum with the deal. and the serial # is 0666 and my wife refers to it as the gun from hell. its only had about 500 rounds through it and sits in my safe next to my norinco SKS model M that's at about the same round count.

It isn't an AR, but I bought a handgun with a serial number HRMXXX, I was a helicopter repairman in the Marine Corps, and the three numerical digits are the same as the first squadron to which I was assigned.

Nope, never really give much notice to the SN, but I must say I don't think I would've left that one behind either. Pretty cool, OP.

that's funny, to me its only a series of numbers no big deal. but now if i met somebody with it tattooed on the back of his neck i might think twice and if i found a 1911 with it i would be all over it, i own five 1911's so far and am always looking for deal on one.

I've only gotten close to cool serial numbers
I have one gun with serial number 86 (would have been cool to have 87) and another with 499997 (would have been cool to have 500000).
