I figured putting a how-to in was better than leaving it in G D

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1228688_Paracord_wrap.htmlThe 1st time I did this I was using 3/16 poly-pro rope that was wove with a solid center so I could only fit one layer in the grooves.
This time I used 550 cord so I had to use a double layer to fill the grooves.
Getting started let me say it's hard to keep the cord pulled tight and take pictures at the same time.
I used about 25 feet to do this wrap on a YHM carbine rail
Started by letting the tag end lay alongside the reciever then run the long end up around the far end of the 6:00 rail
Over to the 9:00 rail with a twist at the bottom to keep the long end a little more secured repeat until they all get the long loop over the ends
Next the long end is run through the last groove in the 6:00 rail then jumps up one to get lined up with the groove in the 3:00 rail then around the 12:00 then 9:00 to meet up with the 6:00 one again
Continue to the front.
Wrap around that last pin then work your way back down to the base
Then I ran the loose end under the wraps that stared this and tied it off with the tag end left along the reciever.
All that's left is to cut the ends and heat seal them making sure the knot lets the upper open fully.
