My AR Pistol Build:

Specs:
- Mega Pistol Lower (Picked this up "used" because someone bought it and returned it without trying to build it from a LGS for $40)
- PSA LPK w/ OD Green Magpul trigger guard and MOE K2 grip
- Phase 5 complete Pistol Buffer Tube
- 10.5" Melonited 1/7 Complete PSA Upper with NiB BCG and CH I got on sale for $299 with free shipping
- Magpul OD Green MBUS and MOE SL Handguard

I'm not really digging the phase 5 buffer tube on this pistol, cheek weld is so so and it looks/feels kind of lop sided. I've been considering the Shockwave Blade or something else to put on the end of this but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Any opinions/advice?

I went with the Shockwave Blade. It gives it a nice look for not that much.  I do also like just the foamed tube.

I have a spare buffer tube and CAA saddle that's on one of my rifles.

For about the price of the shockwave blade I could buy the thorsden cover and mounting adapter and go that route instead.

Has anyone used both and prefer one of the other?

Nice! Is it me or are your sights on backwards? I just got the same upper, thing is solid. Also ordered the shockwave, can't wait to put it on my build!

Shockwave Blade.
Looks normal like a stock and works great for cheap. I don't like a plain tube or just a cheek piece on a tube, looks odd to me and with arm braces that look like normal stocks why have an ugly gun?
There are some new braces that just came out and look great from SB Tactical but they are pricey.

I just read his other thread that he linked, he did it on purpose to reduce glare or something on the sights for his eyes

I vote the new SB Tactical  SBM4 brace. It's way lighter than the original SB15 - nearly as light as the Shockwave - but it's a LOT more comfortable to shoot than the Shockwave 'if you know what I'm sayin'...

Yes they are..the front site I made that way and the Troy rear is concave around the peep like this..I only shot it twice since I finished it last week and I swear it seemed to help under the bright lights of the indoor range..the "correct"  side of the peep is just flat with a hole..nicely finished by Troy.. but shiny

Here you can see concave and the flat peep " />

Seemed to work OK..just need to remember to adjust it opposite for windage  ..This at 20yrds

This is Best rear site IMO

I have thordsen customs buffer tube cover on my pistol.

the best part is you can use the 5 point adjustable carbine tube with it.

so i'm using a carbine tube.  mil-spec from PSA and put the cover over top.
fits very secure and looks awesome.

Love the Thordson. Looks great and the cheek weld is one of the est I've tried.
