so after a little searching i found a pic of one. from my experience most 9mm carbines ( semi) were a2 type lowers ( correct me if im wrong) but from this pic it looks like they do exist. ( pic is not mine, it belongs to 671ar.

Welcome to New York and a few other states where the Federal Ban never really expired.  Pre-Ban still means something here.

The A1 lower Colt 9mm carbines start with "TA" in the serial number. These were green label guns.

I've seen a few for sale in the last few months for around $1200. They'll show up on EE. The other preban serial number for the 9mm with the Blue Label w/reinforced lower is "NL". I've seen transition guns that have green label serial numbers but Blue Label parts and vice versa. I think the new guns use the same serial numbers but have a L in front of the serial number such as LTA or LNL. There is a gun on Gunbroker from a NY dealer that says his gun is a preban 9mm but it clearly is a postban with preban features and it has a L serial number. So be careful.

NY gun laws suck. I can't even take my 1945 Remington Rand 1911 (MADE IN SYRACUSE) to show my dad without risking jail time. Have to leave all my good shit at Olgunner's in PA. Only things I have which will pass are the Stevens shotgun and my preban Plainfield M1 carbine with evil 'paratrooper' stock. Screw them - there's always a way around it. THe 1911 thing chafes my ass though. Why don't you guys in NYS do something about huh? Huh? Whaddya pussies Eh? (See, I still remember how to talk like a New Yorker. ) Fuggedaboudit.

Tell me about it. Can't have a Colt AR15 or Sporter here, even though they're marked Hartford, Ct.

Almost bought one of these for $700 a few weeks ago.. Dealer didn't know exactly what he had. I went back a week later to fill out some Form 4's and saw it now had a $1275 tag on it.
