Is the movie gun an A2 lower with A1 pistol grip? Flat slip ring or delta ring on the upper?
And OP, what do you mean you need to get a safety? |

As it’s already designed to go on a 16” bbl there’s plenty of unnecessary metal tube on the backside. |

View Quote Commercial A2-marked A1 lower with an A2 grip. Has burst for the third position. Buffer tube is commercial spec as is the butt stock which I think is a plastic one that lacks the ribs, which made me think at first that it was aluminum. A2 upper. Carbine was converted from a Guatemalan contract M16A2, so a lot of stuff is odd dimensionally and otherwise out front. Even the handguard is a cut and spliced rifle length handguard. The idea seems to be an early 733 with the barrel chopped an inch down or so and fitted with a moderator for the muzzle device. |

Link to close on the cheap, por favor If I'm not mistaken, #6 is the kind that goes on a 16" to make it look like it has a short barrel while #8 is for the short barrel guns. Again, not exact by any stretch, but it gets you kind of in the ballpark for $15. They also sell complete barrels (Model 1 Sales gets a bad rap, but they've always used ER Shaw barrels) and complete uppers. They also sell the CAR skinny grips and stock in black and green. https://www.model1sales.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=406 No affiliation |

I also used a 11.5 upper, as that’s all I had on hand. The slip over FH hides part of the barrel. |

Does that solve some of the eye relief "problem" of the Ta01? Kinda; the best field of view is still obtained by shooting nose to charging handle (i.e., you can see the specific ammo loading the bdc is spec'd to), but I don't shoot that way. The way mine is set up allows me to get the most comfortable cheek weld and lop while still being within the eye-box of the ACOG. |
