Is 7.62X51 (308) DAG Plastic Ammo gtg  ? Will it even work in anything other than the Fn Fal type rifles it was made for ? It says it's accurate up to 100 yards & I want to use it for sighting in and general plinking and was wondering if it was worth the effort being $190 for 1k .

Maybe for plinking but 100 yds is a little optimistic in the accuracy department.  I wouldn't bother sighting anything in with it.

I bought 100 rounds for my M&P10.  Haven't tried em out yet, but I bought them for about the same reason as you did.  Plus they were cheap.

I posted in the S&W industry forum asking if there are any cautions about using the stuff, but I don't think they know since I haven't gotten any response.

Figure I will have to manually cycle, but that should be the only problem.

If you do a search--you'll find the thread already posted about this.................about three pages back.

GTG to go in what way?  Yes, but it was for the G3 not FN.  You can sight it in but you'll only be zeroed for it......?

I use it in the G3 conversion already mentioned.  No- It wont cycle a semi rifle.  The rim is smaller then regular 308 so some have problems with extraction.
I've shot it out to 50yds- reasonable accuracy but it didn't penetrate a 2x4 (the 2 part) at that distance so I cant see it working much past that- losing too much velocity.

Osprey have you shot it further out?

I have found mine to be fairly accurate from standing and moving shooting at about 25-50 w/ 100 percent reliability in my G3K Sbr Clone.  No mods or LP changing, Drop in. Wideners had it for a long time cheap.  $139/k, that is the cheapest trigger time other than a 22.  And I dont care what people say, yes it has no recoil, but the movement of the carrier and sound (I also have a PWS Brake), make it give more sensation of recoil than a .22.

Like American "blue plastic", it was meant to be able to do live fire WITHOUT the same restrictions as live ammo.

Traning ammo. I have shot a lot of it in an Ishapore model 2A (bolt -action). It does not shoot to the same POA as ball. It has all gone bang. I will not cycle an autoloader unless set up specifically for this ammo. Not really all that accurate but fun @50 yards. Be careful, this is not Airsoft. The plastic bullets could kill at close range.

I shot it  as part of an exchange program between the US army and West Germany , I spent 2 weeks with them. They used it for close quarters training . Clearing bunkers and houses . They used plywood targets the plastic bullet will punch holes in plywood at close range. It is much safer than live rounds in that environment.
