I like that type too, but they aren't really available for the AR. A pretty close substitute is the 'transparent brown' Lancer mag, but they're almost $30. Here's what they look like with a standard 'clear' one.

I found some smoked grey/black Lancer's that I think I am going to go with. They are at Wilson Combat for $16 and some change.

Sounds like you where looking for the MSAR/AUG style mags. They made some specifically for AR15 type platforms. They are orange and transparent and have a waffle pattern molded into them.I have one Made by MSAR, "AR-15/M-16 5.56x45" is stamped on the floor plate. It seems sturdy but does not drop free.
