Sorry it's not the complete rifle... It's the only pic I currently have and my camera just died.  My birthday is coming up on Friday and I'm hoping for a new digital camera.  I'll update soon.

The front is a kill flash (no cover) and I can't remember what # cover is on the eye piece.  I took the ACOG into the store with me and tried them until I found the right one.  I was lucky enough that I found a see-thru cover that fit...I also enjoyed everyone in the store wanting to touch a "real live ACOG".

Nice !

So would it be safe to say that the ACOG TA11 is a Good all around general purpose scope ?

I've onwned several since 1998.  They are a very good general purpose optic, a little large, but more generous eye relief.

Looks like you now have one more. So, you prefer the TA11 to the TA31s?

I can't say I prefer one more than the other.  It's give an take, the TA11 is longer and heavier yet has longer eye relief.  The TA31 is more compact, the field of view is a little larger, and has a slightly higher magnification but the eye relief is shorter.

Which ACOG do I prefer?  It depends on what gun I'm putting the ACOG on.....For example, on a gun with a rifle stock I prefer the TA11 due to the more generous eye relief.

Now if Trijicon would make an ACOG that is the size of the TA31 but has the eye relief of the TA11, I would be in heaven

Agreed. I also have a TA31F in addition the TA11D pictured above. It just seems there are so many who prefer either, but not both...

My TA-11 in use while shooting one of the stages at the Army 3-Gun match Dec 2005.  Course had paper out to about 75 yards, and head sized steel flash targets at 200-225 yds

I am trying to get my kit together for A'Stan. What is the current best price on the TA11 these days?
I am in the middle between the TA11-D, the TA31-A and the TA47R-2.
In reality, I would like to be able to finger fuck all three  whith live ammo before plunking down ~$1000. But that ain't going to happen before I ship.
Thoughts?

TANKS,

Stolen from another thread.......

I think you need a can to go with a TA11. It may even be a rule.......

nobody's mounting them on carry handles?

I got to take a look at the TA31 with the donut ring last night and was very impressed with the quality of the optic. Can't wait to get one myself (dunno which, TA31 or -11.)

Not when the issue rifle is the M4 with rail top. Makes it kind of hard to mount it on a carry handle that isn't there.

One more to the pile. A MSTN 16.5" 6.8SPC in the background with a TA11E. Don't have a pic of my AR10 with it's TA11E, yet. ETA: Not quite Wes' SR25K.

TA11C on recessed DSA mount that helps keep it nice and low on a FAL.  Iron sights still useable out to about 200 yards.
