Could you do the segmented circle reticle in the new accupower 1-4?

Here you go.

Awesome!!!!! This fixed my only complaint with that reticle, which was ranging.

Now that I have a way to range, I can use the BDC effectively when not on a shooting range.

Is there any chance you could use the specs above (M855, 20" barrel, rifle sight radius) with a 300 meter zero.  A good friend is the XO of a reserve unit and with the help of your graphics he and I are trying to educate his troops on what they'll actually see when qualifying as far as target appearance and hold over.

The institutionalized wives tales and ignorance make it almost impossible to make things understood and your graphics will be incredibly helpful at teaching proper marksmanship/qualification.

Using these graphics I'm putting together simple one page sheets that cover the correct military zeroing procedure AND demonstrate holdovers for qualification for the various rifles they use (M4 w/Aimpoint & M855 at 300, M4 w/ACOG & M855 at 100, M4 w/irons & M855 at 300 and M16 w/irons & M855 at 300).

If you're open to any other special request can you draw up the combinations above but use the partial silhouette that the army uses at 50 and 100 meters for qualification.

I found this image of the army's 25M qualification target that shows the adjusted aiming point for center mass hits and the correct shape 50 & 100 meter targets but does not show what the sight picture looks like over the targets.

They both look awesome.

The bottom one is exactly what I'm striving for with the different rifle/sight combos I listed earlier because it shows the target as it will appear when doing the qualification.

The biggest thing troops have issues with is they hear "hold under so rocks get kicked up onto the target" or "hold over because the bullet drops" with no explanation of how much or which target which leads to a lot of missed shots due to bad info.  This would go a long way to eliminating the bad intel.

Please print it out and let me know if it is large enough to see. I will do an M4 one and maybe ACOG ones as well. Let me know if you would like anything else. I can draw up pretty much anything.

Will do.  My buddy's wife works for a printing company and after he looks this over we'll figure out what size sheet to print it on and see how it looks.  I suspect this is perfect.

The iron sight model looks great with one suggestion.  Can you lighten the target outline to a dark gray (for a color contrast with the iron sight) and make it a dashed line where the front sight post obscures the target so that a person can "see" (if they had X-ray vision) how much of the target is obscured by the post.

The 150 and 200m targets especially could confuse a shooter into thinking they're holding at the bottom of the target as they look now and I'm hoping completing the target image as a dashed line will eliminate that confusion.  Here's a really bad attempt with a silver sharpie showing what I mean.

(Thanks for your effort on this.  It goes a long way to eliminating misunderstanding on trajectory.)

How about this? The dotted lines weren't turning out very well so I just did a thinner solid line.

ETA: You may have to delete your temporary internet files if this doesn't load the new one.

Looks great!  We're planning to print these out on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets to hand out and will probably do a larger poster for discussion/training.

If you're able to email me a high res jpeg, eps or png file I can have a printer here crank them out.

I was wanting to do the TA31 ACSS reticle but couldn't find that exact one on your website. If you could e-mail me a pic or PDF of the reticle with MOAs called out it would be appreciated. Also, if you could tell me the closest match barrel length/ammo wise as well.

This is really cool.

Any chance of a 25y POI/POA for quick zeroing?

For example, if one had access to a 25 yard range and wanted to approximate a 100 yard zero with a TA31H out of a 14.5" barrel using XM193?

Sure. Let me know what muzzle velocity you'd like me to use and I can create something for you.

How does this look? I tried to fit the entire reticle on the screen, so the targets are smaller. If you'd like the targets larger or something else changed, I can do that.

Uber awesome job!  I don't know if it's possible but,  I would be curious to see a 62g ss109 14.5" from a Matech 0-600 irons.  I'm working on zeroing the Matech,  but I'm going to have to travel a ways to do a 600 meter steel test.

I actually don't have dope for the Matech. I do have info on A2/A4 type irons and KAC 600m but sold my Matechs before measuring them up.
All it takes is measuring the overall height at each position and finding the distance between each range marking. If someone could accurately measure theirs or send me one to measure, it would be no problem. Sight radius is also needed.

That would be awesome.  I can measure mine this weekend with my calipers.  I'll also include the sight distance.

As has been said in this thread before, the 50y zero is virtually identical to the 200m zero.

How about pistol length pictures?  I know that may not work since there are so many different lengths.  I have a 12.5" barrel...hint hint.

Great post.

Pistol length FSB? If you are talking about running the front sight on a free float hand guard, there are many possibilities. The holds will be the same as long as the barrel length is the same, but the size that the front sight post appears to be will be larger or smaller.

If you give me more details like velocity and sight radius I can make you a custom one.

Here's a challenge. Can you do a US Optics SR-4C reticle (the mil scale reticle, not the horus), using Mk262 Mod1 77grain ammo at 2733 fps? The optic has a second focal plane red dot, but I am interested in the first focal plane mil scale reticle.

You do a good job. Looking forward to your reply.

I have the ability to make these and wanted to help the community. The more information there is out there the better off we are.

If you guys have any other requests involving sights, barrel and rail length, barrel weight, etc. I might be able to help. For example, I have info for A2, A4, and KAC 600m sights for anyone shooting something other than 20" barrels and M855 that want to know their dope.
Link Posted: 6/30/2016 11:41:43 AM EST

I assumed that is an 18" barrel.

Nice. Thank you. You work fast.

I thought that I had been thorough, but it is a 16" barrel and 50/225 yd zero. Don't know why I didn't give you that.

If that was my only chance, then I can still work with this. You must enjoy doing this.We all appreciate it.
