im looking for a scope with an illuminated reticle that is most likely going to be 1-4x so i can use it at short and medium distances.
my budget is $300

something i really really want out of this sight is to be able to drop it on accident  once or twice and still be good to go.
really im just looking for an acog alternative in my price range.

thanks guys

Primary Arms 1-4 or the new 1-6x. Good scope from a good company.

However, I like the reticle on the Weaver Kaspa 1.5-6x32...

You get what you pay for with glass and lense coatings but they both seem to be well constructed. I'll give clarity edge to the PA but it comes with a 3 year warranty. Not sure about the Kaspa, I was assuming that it was a lifetime warranty when I bought it but I'm not sure.

I have scopes from $50 to $2000 and I still think the Bushnell 1-4x throw down down scope with lite reticule is a terrific deal for a little over $200. It is mounted too high in this picture I have lowered it since.

I have the Primary Arms 1-4X, Burris TAC-30 1-4X and Burris MTAC 1.5-6X.

I would skip the Primary Arms.  The eyebox is too small and the dot is very dim.

I like both the TAC-30 and the MTAC 1.5-6X.  I prefer the MTAC with the slightly higher modification and nicer turrets.  I bought the MTAC for ~$340 from Optics Planet a couple years ago.  IIRC I used their DVOR club and requested a deal on it and that is what they quoted.

The TAC-30 was about $270.  I think Midway had a $20 coupon I used on it as well.

Vortex Crossfire II 1-4, but its no ACOG alternative imo.

Check Burris Tac 30 as well.

My experience with lower end Vortex optics wasn't very good.  I would have no problem using the Viper or Razor line though.  (I've got a couple Vipers, but none are the 1-4X models.)

Here's a good review on that Bushnell AR Throwdown 1-4 optic.

Holy Cheek Weld Batman!!!!  WTF mount is that???

As for scopes, the Primary Arms mentioned is hard to beat for the price.  I prefer Vortex optics myself.

It's not culturally sensitive to ask that question...
