I notice the bezel on the X300 Ultra looks notable wider than the 300.  Does it interfere with the Front Sight Post when mounted at the 12:00 position?

Clean looking rifle, I like it.  I myself just upgraded from a Surefire 150 lumen weapon light to a custom 800 OTF lumen light.  Amazing difference and most definitely NOT too much light, even indoors.

Thanks but I believe you are using a lower 1/3rd co-witness optic mount.  If you were using your irons only, how's the view with the Ultra?

My guess is it would cover it more and that's the reason i don't like it at 12 with just irons.

You don't see the X300U looking through the irons.  It's the ideal set up for ambi use without tape switches and it's good around barricades and from rests.  The X300U is a damn fine light.  The body is the same as the X300, only the bezel is larger in diameter and longer.

assuming your not running a can.

Why wouldn't you mount in the 3:00 position?

I assume you're talking to me so...I wouldn't mount in the 3:00 position because it's not easy or natural for me to activate the light in that position.  I know some that do and if it works for them, then that's the way to go, for them.  Prior to switching to a rail that would allow 12:00 mounting, I preferred 11:00 for ease of activation with the support hand thumb or web between thumb and forefinger.  While not ideal for ambi use, it was easy and natural for 99.9% of what I use a rifle for.  The 12:00 mount is just as natural for me to activate with the added benefit of being the same, shooting right or left handed and not in the way shooting to the left or right or over cover.  It does look strange and it does shorten your sight radius but my rifle is set up and used for close quarters so, not a big issue.  Anyway, that's my opinion.  Your mileage may vary and all that.

I prefer the X300 Ultra on a Mossie Tactics lowered mount at the 12 o'clock position. This keeps the topic obstruction and clutter free on an absolute co-witness mount.

Nice gun but for me with the Streamlight tlr-1 it bothered me with the sight picture with irons. IT might be different with the surefire's.

i had to check the view before posting.  I tend to ignore things like FSBs, flashlights ect.   Shooters are all different, we each have ways of doing things that may make a particular set up ideal for us or complete crap.    As with most things, this is not the way but a way.

I ignore Front sights also with optics, but when shooting with just irons I focus on the front sight so yea were all different.
