Yes. You need the Galil safety, a smith that knows his ass from a hot rock, and a pistol grip that has the selector cut-out. Here's how mine came out. I used a PG from K-Var, safety come off the EE. BSW

I used the AK lever. It was modded to work with the Galil left side lever. BSW

k-var has sold the lever they use in the SAM7-SF, and that longer/fatter grip. But they do not tell you on the site that you need a slightly longer than avg grip screw for that (BSW pic) grip.

Ah, thanks for the tip. I was looking at the one here http://riflestocks.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=93_98&products_id=323 but it doesn't look like the cut out goes far enough to the front compared to the photos I see here. Looks like the lever actually goes past the grip a little.

Is that a statement on using a dremel? I've done some nice work with one. It can do some real nice stuff if you make jigs instead of trying to free hand it.

No it was not a statement against the use of a dremel. The only thing I have against dremel tools is that they are to small. I prefer a die grinder for that kind of work.
