I may get wood furniture to replace the black polymer on a new SGL21 I hope to get next week. Any recommendations? Pics?

Russian.
Real AKM wood looks nice, the AK74 stocks to me look out of place on a 7.62mm rifle.  You could also get a nice Romanian stock and some Polish guards but a matched set of Russian would be hard to beat.

The choice of wood type will vary from person to person. Just because I like a dark blue car doesn't mean you will. With that said, I have always liked the blonde Bulgarian, or Hungarian type wood.  GARY  N4KVE

If you go Russian 74 laminate, you could end up looking something like this

FWIW I think the 74 laminate looks better since the SGL21 is an AK100 series and closer to an AK74 than it is to an AKM

The problem with switching out all furniture on the SGL-21 with imported stuff is that then you have to start swapping out other parts to maintain 922r compliance.

if you leave the USA made grip (or replace it with another usa made grip) you only need to replace 1 part a mag follower, floor plate, piston.... whatever you want to replace. I replaced my followers.

Looks good! Where did you order the stock set from? Was it hard to install?

I got the wood from here https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/cPath/21_79/products_id/1208

I had to sand a little to get it to fit right but it was no big deal..... I finished it with RIT dye and sealed it with pure tung oil
