Would someone be so kind as to let me know what the name of this rifle is? I cannot read Russian. I believe that it is an RPK prototype rifle. Thanks!

IIRC, the prototype RPK-74 had a drum similar too.

I was just informed that this is one "2B-P-40 machinegun" made by Constantinov.
Allmilitaryweapons The 2B-A-40 is an assault rifle of Russian origin. The weapon uses a delayed blowback operation and is chambered in the 7.62x39mm round. The 2B-A-40 also came as a light machine gun as the 2B-P-40. |

interesting, looks very space-gun.
the stamping pattern looks a little overly complex for the numbers those would need to be made in at the time. |
