Hello, I don't know anything about the Egyptian AK but I would like to buy part kits to send it to build in a complete Rifle. Atlantic Firearms and Apex are selling the part kits. Do you guys know if these kits are gtg? another thing I see is that these are with the folding but I'm not a fan of folding stock. I prefer the fixed stock. In that case, do I need to replace rear trunion for the fixed stock?  thanks

The trunnion for the folding stock is the same as the fixed stock. Drop in replacement.

The parts kits have been hit or miss.  Some people got beautiful unissued matching numbers kits,(I got two) some folks got mis matched or badly demilled kits that had trunnions gouged up or sight leafs cut in half, selector levers gouged, axis pins with hunks out of them.  Also some people are reporting that the trunnions they got are swallowing the virgin romy barrels they bought for em.

My two trunnions are ok size wise with the romy barrels I have. have not measured them with a caliper yet tho....just did a quick hand fit to see if ok.

Two Rivers Arms is doing a run of builds with these kits and they also do the selector markings in arabic or the S.A.R. marking if you want it marked as an export which is what these kits are.

Here is an info thread about them....

I ordered my kit from Classic Arms. Just did a look see after seeing this post. Matching numbers, bolt and gas tube looks virtually  unfired. New looking mag, can't push the barrel into the front trunnion. Only things I noticed  were grinder marks on the rear sling loop and no cleaning rod with the kit. My first kit so I'm not really sure what I'm looking for anyway. Thinking about using a wood stock instead of the crutch though, not that fond of the folder on my amd-65.

Question, what receiver flat is needed for build of these Egyptian Crutch Folder kits? Romanian, Polish??

Any fixed stock, better yet undrilled, receiver would do like NDS-1...So any Eastern European flat for a fixed stock would work...

I got my kits from Atlantic and got one all numbers matching, unissued kit and the other lightly used with unmatched top cover but everything else matches. Both had decent demill jobs and tight trunnions...

That depends on whether you want a functioning rifle or an "authentic" reproduction. There is one slight difference between MAADI
receivers and other countries' AKMs. The magazine dimple on the MAADI is longer than say a Polish. Not a big deal unless you want
it to look authentic.

I took the following pic from the above mentiooned link. It is obvious in the picture of the difference. The bottom MAADI was built on an
NDS receiver. The top is a MAADI receiver.

Hi all,
I have been reading a few post saying the Crutch folder is uncomfortable and would perfer a more common wood stock.  I am looking for a side folder for my Maadi ARM.  Would anyone be interested in off setting the cost by selling me the Crutch folder???

Thanks, Jones

Hi All
I receved my parts kit today.  Not all numbers match and the Arabic writing is hard to tell.  At first I thought it was English.

Great looking build! Will these guns be assembled from matching number kits? Also, is the barrel US made?

Got my kit today and I'm disappointed.  Parts missing: brake and front sight assembly and the rails were broken.  had matching numbers: bolt, bolt carrier and cover, but some of the parts (front trunion) looking like it belonged somewhere else and the barrel I have slid it very easily.  Sending it back and unfortunately, they are now out of stock.
