Just curious if it's a common variation. It also has a serial number stamped but it's nowhere near the rifles serial #.
Mine has the crest, guns serial #13xx, the box has a date on it, 12/7/2012.
I got it from Buds in early October.

I have not heard of even one (1) person that had a matching S/N on there O-PAP wood stock. Not one.

BTW, mine did not have the crest logo.

I got one when they were first coming out and it has the crest. I think all the early ones had them.

My guns serial #22xx, the box has a date on it, 01/7/2013.

Thats exactly 1 month apart. By looking at the S/Ns, it looks like they were making approx. 900 of these guns per month.

Mine did not have one when I got it.  I have a friend with access to a laser engraver at work so I had him add the crest for me.  Refinishing in progress.

I just got one of the O-PAPs AIM was selling last week.  It had a serial number on the stock, but no crest.

If you're gonna go thru the time and trouble to laser etch a stock, why not go for something nicer than a Serbian chicken?

It does look good and the craftsmanship is definitely there, I just would have set the bar a little higher.

Chicken. Thats good one

Didnt Century swapped original black thoumbhole stock and handguards with either IWD or original B1 furniture and thats why your PAP 4 digit serial # wont match with 5 or 6 digit # on buttstock

It's supposedly military surplus wood.
The engraving is new.

Mine just came in today.  Has the crest, and the date on the box is March 2013.

eta: pictures/ Got her cleaned up last night, now need to clean and finish the wood (as you can see there are quite a few cosmoline smears/stains).  For the final product, I don't want a glossy finish, so I'm thinking boiled linseed oil or tung oil after a light sanding.  Don't want to damage the crest though.

No crest on my O-PAP stock ... So I threw it into the BBQ grill.

Gave a nice smoked flavor to a couple of steaks!
