Have a quick question here.....I have a Glock 21 that I bought when I was LE.  My question is...since I have TONS of extra mags available I was going to try out a G21 SF.  Before I do this (or find one), I was wondering if my regular 21 mags will fit in the SF.  I have heard several opinions on the matter so I thought I would check here for the "definitive" word .

Hell I'm still trying to find out is sf means short frame as in front of the grip to the back or slim frame meaning they took some thickness off the side.

Yes it will work. What didn't was some of the ambi mag stuff that was tried around the time it was introduced. If you use a right side or ambi release you need new mags with ambi cuts.

I like my gen3 G21 but my Gen4 G21 just feels good in my hand and I don't heve to shift my grip to hit the mag release button.
I never notice how much I had to shift my grip to eject a mag on the Gen3 until I started shooting the Gen4.

Short Frame,.....3mm shorter distance from front to rear
The Gen 4 model, without a backapstrap installed, is the same dimensions as a 3rd Gen SF

best answer...try a G21SF and a G21 Gen4...many of us like the feel of the Gen4 better...it "feels" even more comfortable to my hand...

Just got an SF myself. Should have been how the Gen 2s started.

I had a G30 that was my dad's in perfect shape, but I would have never enjoyed shooting it with my medium hands, and I have many 1911s and Hicap pistols.

Haven't tried the Gen 4, but almost got the SF free with two other guns I bought from a friend. Now to wait for a G20 upper unit.....

Looking at some of the comments, many seem to like the G21SF...Is there anything you guys don't like or that is bad about the Standard Glock 21?
Reason I ask is I already own a G19 & G17 and a family friend has a Gen 3 Glock 21 that he is selling. Only has approx 120 rds through. I offerred him $400 and he said sure! Gonna pick it up tomorrow.
Never owned a .45 before.

I'd be all over any Glock 21 for $400...

I own an SF and I love it.

The reduction of the backstrap on the SF and Gen 4 models help greatly and make a world of difference for those of us with smaller hands, however, the difference isn't so notable to others. There is nothing wrong with the std, Gen 3 21 so long as it feels good to you. And $400 is a great deal.

I've handled both models and couldn't tell the difference . Buy which ever one you like .
