Like Christmas morning, I woke up early (for a Saturday) and promptly started taking pictures. So this is the new KPOS G2P Pathfinder. The difference here is that this model does not change the classification of the base pistol and is very much like adding the sig brace on an AK pistol. In order to be compliant, they removed the folding VFG/trigger guard and replaced it with a finger stop.

I picked this up directly from ZFI, an Israeli based company. Paid $539 shipped and took roughly a week to arrive. The one I bought is preconfigured for the Glock 19/17.

https://www.zfi-inc.com/en/kpos-g2p-pathfinder-kit-rfbsvts-included-fab-for-glock-models-17-18-19-22-23-25-31-32-37-38

Now for some unboxing porn

The USPS guy dropped this at my front door. Look at all those hieroglyphics!

Opened it up, and I see not one, but TWO plastic cases!

So I opened the first case and I found a GUN! I was like, this is got to be a bad fucking joke. Started playing with it and found out that it's a flashlight/laser pointer thing disguised as a gun. I want my money back :mad_small

Now that's out of the way, i proceed to the bigger case.

The goodies! I see the KPOS, a sling, manual, some Allen wrenches, and a small plastic bag.

I opened that small bag and here's what I found - an adapter so I can use my Glock 21!

The KPOS unit - the main body is constructed of aluminum. The backup sights, hand stop, and buffer tube hinge is some kind of ABS plastic. It has an AR style charging handle that pulls the slide back.

This is the part inside the unit that is responsible for cocking the slide back. It has enough clearance to work with Glocks 17, 19, 21, 22. It might work with a G34 and 35 with some adjustment. I can see that there is some kind of screw that I can loosen to set the piece a bit more forward to accommodate a longer slide.

Installing the Glock into the unit. I start off by pushing a cross pin that holds the buffer tube and rear back plate. There's a lever up front that unlocks the front handguard so you can pull it down at an angle.

The Glock slides through the lower handguard using the gun's accessory rail. Once in, I simply push the handguard up and lock it in place. The buffer tube folds back down and secured.

Here's the KPOS fully decked out - G17, Eotech, G18 33 round magazine.

On a Glock 19

On a Glock 21 with a Kriss mag extension

Glocks I test fitted - 17, 19, 21, 22

With the Sig Brace and mini range report

Took it out this afternoon and fired about 150 rounds. Didn't encounter any feeding or ejection issues. Sighted the factory installed BUIS at 15 yards.

Observations - functioned as I expected. Handguard got a little warm after successive shooting. My support hand also got a little dirty. The inside of the KPOS is dirty as well, particularly toward the muzzle area and forward portion of the slide.

Overall, I am pleased with the controllability of this setup. Follow up shots are easy at longer ranges and recoil impulse with the brace is very minimal. I didn't shoot it with the Eotech because I didnt want to adjust it (it's currently sighted in for another rifle). I expect that an addition of a red dot will make this an even better platform.

Dislikes: I am not liking that the buffer tube folds to the left. It blocks the ejection port. This prevents me from firing it without unfolding the tube. Looking at the mechanism, I think I can rotate it 180 degrees to make if fold to the left.

EDIT: i can rotate the buffer tube assembly to it folds to the right.

Are you gonna use a sig brace? Convert it as a pistol?

That's pretty sweet...looking forward to hearing how it runs.

Well shit. This won't be good for my wallet.

I never cared for the Mako but have really been digging the KPOS. The Mako has a Sig Brace version IIRC.

Yes, but I had to remove the foam to do it. I tried to gently peel it off but it was tight in there. I got impatient and just ripped it out.

Yes. It's one of the major reasons I bought it.

Would using a G35 barrel on the 17 get rid of the powder residue? Does lone wolf make a 6 inch or longer barrel?
ETA OK GOOGLED

Never thought about using a longer barrel with the same slide. There's plenty of clearance up front so I suppose you can and it will still look badass.

Can you estimate how much clearance there is in front of the slide with your 17/22, or take a pic from the front with the pistol installed?  Lone Wolf makes an extended 6" barrel, but I'm curious how close that would get to the end of the KPOS?

3.75" from bore to opening of KPOS. G17 is about 4.5" barrel length. A 9" barrel would stick out .75".

Nice. I switched the buffer tube to it folds to the left. This way I can still shoot it with the tube folded.

Thanks.  Sounds like the 6" barrel would be the way to go then, to leave some room for a suppressor to nest underneath the shroud.

Good job flipping the folding mechanism.  It looks a lot more natural on the left side.  If/when I succumb to the temptation and order one of these things, it's good to know that's an option.

Just rotated my folder. I am using a G34 in mine, and I used the front mounting screws with the charging device rotated to make up for the extra length of the slide. The charging handle does not lock due to the silencer, as it rests against the booster. If I were to lock the charging handle in, I would not be able to fully thread on can. Works great, no issues. Here is vid of mine.

No. The Magpul AFG is too long. I've been looking at alternatives as well - criteria being that it's classified as AFG and legal to install on this setup. Looking at the Fortis Shift and the Stark SE-5. Both will fit with room to spare.

Just in case you're wondering, here's the ATF's opinion on the Stark SE-5
