Here is mine. It's a Kimber Custom II. The gun came with a Carbon slide and Stainless frame finished in Black Oxide. I had the slide refinished in blue and the frame stripped to stainless. The front strap was done in 30lpi checkering and the safety is an ambidextrious non extended. I also put on a set of meprolight trituim sights, Ed Brown slide stop and a Wilson mainspring housing

how much was the checkering ?
and did u get it done localy? |
|
|
I can't remember what it cost for the checkering. I know it was not very expensive at all. The work was performed by John Frost at the Beavercreek Gun Shop. It's located south of Oregon City. John's E-mail is [email protected]
I am very happy with his work. Congradulations on the purchase of your first Kimber. I think you will be very happy with it. |

What's the model #/name of the Kimber with the tact rail that looks kind of like the Sig GSR?
Has anyone done a comparison between these two pistols to see which one is better? |

That's gorgeous. Is it a .45acp? Might be a bad angle, but that round looks like a .40cal.

It's a .45 , the rounds are 230gr HI-SHOK's . The Mag is from another 1911 but I put it in the photo for effect . I will take it to the range tomorrow and put a few hundred rounds of ball ammo through it before I start using the JHP's |
