I got the TRP this afternoon.

As received from Springfield, it was near dripping wet.  Seems they lubed it with WeaponShield.

Well the TRP operator was much tighter than I was expecting.  No noticable play in slide to frame fit.The barrel locked up tight as a bank vault, zero movement in the breech/hood.  The finish is even & very nice the checkering was also well done.

Love the front strap.  Two sets of grips, G10 pictured and the grit grips, do not really care for either set.  The grit set loses particles when rubbed, very cheesy!

The front sight fit is very good, almost looks blended to the slide, not just an installed sight. Rear is better than I expected, may leave it be, but was planning on replacing with a Harrison rear sight.

Overall weight is 42oz, does seem to be a bit muzzle heavy, but should shoot very well.  The internals are MIM, may get replaced down the road, will be fine for now.  The trigger pulled at 4 pounds 6 ounces on my fish scale, seems to feel a bitblighter than that.  Break is crisp, no creep or over travel.

That's about all I have for now,.......more info when I get some range time.

Sick gun, I'm jealous.... Enjoy it, these are near impossible to find!

Also, just curious... why do you put the last round in the mag backwards?

Good looking gun. How long did you have to wait for it to come in?

Congrats OP...I just got my half rail Operator a couple weeks ago...it shoots great.

I waited 4 months on mine.  Get the Harrison sight.  I ordered it OEM from SA and it is great.

I've looked into the Harrison rear,......will wait until I get my
LW Compact 45 back from Chuck Rogers.

I do plan on having the Operator refinished in hard chrome or NP3 plus

Just to break it down (I didn't know years ago either....) HK put the above image on some of their literature years ago.  It was a advertising 'blooper' if you will.  It's since become a running joke in the gun community.

Yes, I'm well aware of the HK marketing fools.  Just wasn't aware that it was something to perpetuate.

Only available from the Springfield Custom shop.

BTW...the pics I posted are not mine. Just from a google search. The one with woods grips was for sale on the EE last year. I think he was asking $2600.00.

Wow just a standard TRP full rail. It is bad ass. Can't you a pro for that kinda money.  Or close.

Very nice.

I have the Full rail Operator and a TRP Operator half rail.

The TRP Operator is by far superior to the Operator. (Which I guess is a Loaded?)

I did get the harrison sight for mine.

Ordered the heinie tritium setup, got a tritium bar instead. Called John, got told he'd do a replacement in the next batch, and never heard back.

Kind of got tied up with other stuff and forgot.

I just recently took the Harrison sight off and put the original one back on.

Did you not like the harrison rear sight? My factory tritiums are almost dead. I was thinking about changing out the rear for the Harrison one and wasn't sure which I'd use for the front.

My loaded Operator is a fun gun.  I have smooth ebony and VZ grips for it.  I wouldn't want to carry it, but it makes a nice range gun.
